Jailed pedophile sues mustard company for $450,000 claiming they misled ‘customers’ with packet packaging lacking information about calories and carbs

An imprisoned pedophile has sued a mustard company for $450,000 in damages after claiming they misled “customers” with their packaging.

David Lettieri, 36, who is currently behind bars in Ohio for seducing a minor, launched a legal battle against Salad Fresh Four-in-One Mustard for allegedly withholding crucial information from its consumers.

According to the registered sex offender, who is suing the company from prison, the lack of nutritional facts on the packaging is misleading.

The packet of mustard lists the ingredients as “distilled vinegar, mustard seeds, salt, turmeric, paprika, spices, and flavorings.”

But Lettieri believes that mustard seeds contain “a type of carbohydrate that has calories,” which are not on the list.

In the lawsuit, which he brought without a lawyer, Lettieri said: “The plaintiff knows that salt is in sodium, which provides nutritional value for a good diet.”

It says he “doesn’t know what turmeric is… what spies are in the package… what flavoring is in the package.”

Since being held in various prisons, he is “unable to investigate such matters.” (sic)

He said, “Because there were no nutritional facts on the packaging, this was a form of neglect towards the customers.” (sic)

His legal role is riddled with spelling errors.

According to Law & CrimeCourt records show that Lettieri has filed at least 20 lawsuits against federal agents since he served time in jail awaiting sentencing.

Lettieri was convicted after he sexually messaged a 13-year-old girl and then attempted to meet her in a park and have sex with her. The deed did not take place.

The Justice Department issued a statement in June of this year announcing his conviction: “U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that a federal jury has convicted David Lettieri, 36, of Harpursville, NY, of seducing a minor.

The charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Paul E. Bonanno and Maeve E. Huggins, who handled the prosecution of the case, stated that in October 2020, Lettieri had traveled from Broome County to meet a 13-year-old girl (victim) at a park in Wyoming County with the intention of having sexual intercourse, but sexual contact did not occur.

“Follow-up investigations recovered communications between Lettieri and the victim, including photos of the victim on Lettieri’s phone.

Investigators also searched Lettieri’s Facebook account and discovered conversations between Lettieri, the victim, and the victim’s sister, which were sexual in nature.

During the interviews, the age of the victim also came up.

“The verdict is the result of an investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Gregory J. Rudolph, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, led by Special Agent Matthew Miraglia.”
