Jaffas: Favourite Aussie sweet quietly disappears from shelves – and chocolate lovers are outraged

An iconic Australian chocolate is being quietly discontinued at a major supermarket.

Woolworths confirmed that Allen's Jaffas will no longer be available in stores nationwide, despite some devastated customers saying it is the 'best chocolate available'.

“We are continually reviewing the range of products we sell and this may mean some are replaced,” a spokesperson said.

A Woolworths spokesperson has confirmed that the supermarket giant will no longer stock Allen's Jaffas orange chocolate balls in stores nationwide following an internal investigation.

'We are always working to ensure we stock the range of products that have the greatest customer appeal.

“Jaffas are still for sale through BIG W.”

The chocolate and orange balls in a crispy shell – which have been available in Australia for 101 years – are also still sold by Coles.

'This is a mockery! I only have a Woolworths in my small town,” said one person on social media when he saw the news.

Another complained: 'Yes, typical, throw away anything Australian made.'
