Jadon Sancho returns to Man United’s training ground to train on his own after refusing to apologise to Erik ten Hag and being banished from first-team practice

  • He was ruled out of first-team training on Thursday due to a ‘discipline problem’
  • Ten Hag and Sancho are embroiled in a feud as the winger refuses to back down

Jadon Sancho arrived at Manchester United’s training ground in Carrington for his isolated training session on Friday morning after being banned from first-team training yesterday.

The 23-year-old refused to apologize for his public spat with manager Erik ten Hag and the feud has only intensified as a result.

United released a statement yesterday announcing that Sancho would be forced to train alone due to a ‘team discipline issue’.

It follows Sancho’s public row with Erik ten Hag after the manager criticized his performance in training, with the winger calling his words ‘completely untrue’.

Ten Hag will speak later today and will no doubt be asked about a story that threatens to further derail a faltering start to United’s season, with the issues surrounding Mason Greenwood and Antony putting the club in a negative light.

United’s statement read: ‘Jadon Sancho will continue to undertake a personal training program away from the first-team squad pending a resolution to a squad discipline issue.’

Ten Hag is still furious that Sancho, who signed for €73 million in 2021, essentially branded him a liar for saying he was left out of the squad to face Arsenal due to his poor training performance.

Sancho posted on social media: ‘Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people to say things that are completely untrue. This week I behaved very well during training.

“I believe there are other reasons for this issue that I won’t go into. I have been a scapegoat for a long time, which is not fair!

‘All I want is to play football with a smile on my face and contribute to the team. I respect all the decisions made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and I am grateful for that, which I know is a challenge every week. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!’
