Jadon Sancho is reportedly willing to return to Manchester United, but only under one condition.

Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January after his time at United deteriorated and fell out of favor with manager Erik ten Hag after publicly complaining about being left out of the squad in August.

Sancho has since found form again and impressed during his side’s trip to Saturday’s Champions League final, where they fell short against Real Madrid.

Uncertainty remains over where Sancho will play next season, especially as Dortmund are said to be interested in signing him permanently.

However, the player acknowledges that this will not be possible under Ten Hag and therefore his future at the club depends on the manager staying.

Ten Hag’s future is equally uncertain after reports emerged before the FA Cup final that he would be sacked regardless of the outcome.

United then defeated Man City 2-1 and that victory might have bought the Dutchman more time.

Sancho signed for United from Dortmund in 2021 for a fee of £73 million.

The winger made 82 appearances for United, scoring 12 goals while providing six assists.

Sancho refused to apologize to Ten Hag after accusing the United boss of making him a ‘scapegoat’ for the club’s disappointing results.

In January, Ten Hag stated that United had ‘completely’ problems with Sancho.

Ten Hag told Sky Sports: ‘He is now at Dortmund. So after he was signed, a year earlier [I was here]and there were problems. We have had problems all the time, so you can see that his stay at Manchester United has not been a success so far.

‘So now he’s going back to Borussia Dortmund, so I wish him the best of luck. I hope we all hope that he will do well there, that he will be successful. Again, we’ll see what happens.’

When asked whether things might be different if the player had apologized, Ten Hag replied: ‘We have said that before. And I don’t want to return to the point every time. He knows what he has to do and we have made that clear.’

Ten Hag stated that Sancho’s absence from the matchday squad against Arsenal in September was due to his performance in training.

Sancho then responded angrily on social media, writing: “I behaved very well in training this week” and “I have been a scapegoat for a long time, which is not fair!”
