Jacob Elordi’s mum launches into angry tirade after her Saltburn actor son’s altercation with KIIS FM staffer outside popular Sydney pub

The mother of Hollywood heartthrob Jacob Elordi has lashed out at the media following her son’s alleged altercation with a KIIS FM employee at a popular Sydney pub.

The 26-year-old Saltburn star was accused of assaulting radio producer Joshua Fox, 32, outside the Clovelly Hotel in Sydney’s eastern suburbs at 3.30pm on Saturday.

Fox approached Elordi to film a stunt for the Kyle & Jackie O show and claims the actor became enraged and grabbed his throat after he ignored the Euphoria star’s request to remove the footage.

Elordi has yet to share his version of events.

Daily Mail Australia contacted the actor’s parents, Melissa and John, who live in Brisbane’s leafy northern suburbs, to see if they could shed light on his side of the story.

However, before the reporter could ask a question, Ms. Elordi burst into an angry tirade.

‘What do you think you will achieve by coming here? So you can spread more… (walked away).

“How disrespectful and rude of you to come here,” she said, slamming the door on the reporter.

Fox was sent to the Clovelly Hotel by KIIS FM to film a video of Elordi, who was there with two men and a woman.

He said he waited until The Kissing Booth actor left the room before approaching him.

Fox playfully asked the actor for a sample of his bathwater as a gift for radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

The request is a reference to an infamous scene in Elordi’s runaway hit film, in which another character drinks Elordi’s character’s bathwater.

Fox claims Elordi realized he was filming and demanded he delete the footage.

He said he initially accepted the file and deleted it, but when Elordi subsequently asked him to remove it from his recently deleted files folder, Fox refused.

“I believe that if I delete this footage, there is no evidence that this encounter took place,” Fox said.

He then claimed that Elordi, who is 6 feet tall, “got up in his face” and “backed him up against a wall” and “grabbed him by the throat” while his two male friends surrounded him on either side and Fox prevented from leaving.

Fox broke its silence on the shocking confrontation on the Kyle & Jackie O show on Monday morning, with NSW Police confirming an investigation has been launched after a 32-year-old was allegedly attacked by a 26-year-old.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans rushing to Elordi’s defense and reportedly sending Fox death threats, while others have announced that the actor’s accusations have turned them away.

One person posted on Reddit: “Quickest thing I’ve ever sided with a celebrity.”

“I can imagine how bad the questions would be if Josh works for Kyle (Sandilands) and Jackie (Henderson),” someone else wrote.

Another said: ‘So we’re calling paparazzi reporters now? The guy had no injuries and was provoking him.”

Others defended Fox over the alleged altercation, with one person writing on Twitter: “This incident is deeply disturbing and raises serious concerns.”

“Just when I start to like Jacob Elordi he’s going to do this,” a second added.

Elordi is currently Down Under filming his role as Australian Imperial Force soldier Dorrigo Evans in Amazon Prime Video’s five-part adaptation of Richard Flanagan’s 2013 novel The Narrow Road to the Deep North.

He will next reprise his role as “psychopathic” East Highland High School quarterback Nate Jacobs in the third season of Euphoria (with a five-year time jump), which began filming in December.

The incident comes after Elordi raised eyebrows in December when he made disparaging comments about The Kissing Booth film franchise, which he starred in between 2018 and 2021, in his GQ Men of the Year cover story.

Elordi, who recently starred in the blockbuster Saltburn, had been socializing at the hotel for several hours before the alleged incident unfolded.

“I didn’t want to make those movies before I made those movies,” he told the publication, adding, “Those movies are ridiculous. They are not universal. They are an escape.”

Fans of The Kissing Booth were quick to criticize Elordi online, calling him “ungrateful” and “disrespectful” to his former colleagues.

“Jacob Elordi needs to understand that if you shit on a project like he did, he’s also shitting on his co-stars, the creators and most importantly the fans,” one user wrote.

‘Those films are important to many fans. Don’t ignore them just because you’ve suddenly stepped up,” they added.

Another agreed: “I hate actors who downplay their humble beginnings, where their careers started.”

The Kissing Booth was Elordi’s second feature film role and thanks to record-breaking fans, he quickly became a household name.

Daily Mail Australia contacted Elordi and Clovelly Hotel for comment earlier this week but have not yet received a response.
