Jacob Elordi reacts to Mean Girls star Renee Rapp calling him ‘so babygirl’ during a humorous teaser for Saturday Night Live

Jacob Elordi responded to Renee Rapp calling him “so babygirl” in a new Saturday Night Live teaser released Thursday.

The Euphoria star, 26 – who is still in a relationship with Olivia Jade Giannulli despite speculation the pair had split – will take on hosting duties for the sketch comedy’s first episode of 2024, with the Mean Girls star as the musical guest.

In the short clip, which was uploaded to the show’s main Instagram page, the Australian actor was seen standing between the actress and comedian Bowen Yang.

“Hi, I’m Jacob Elordi, and this week I’m hosting SNL Renee Rapp,” he addressed the camera while wearing jeans, a white shirt and a warm red cardigan.

Yang quickly intervened and said, “Renee, you’re absolutely right. He’s such a baby girl,” and she replied with a laugh, “I know, that’s what I said, he’s such a baby girl.”

Jacob folded his hands behind his back, looked at both Renee and Bowen, then asked, “Me?” I’m a girl?’

Then he turned around, looked at the singer and asked, “So, what’s Renee?” prompting her to simply respond with, “Oh, I’m a mother.”

The camera then cut to the SNL star jokingly placing his hands on his hips and announcing, “And I’m a big wrinkly son!”

The caption of the teaser video shared with the show’s fans and followers read, “bbg, mom and big wrinkly son.”

Babygirl is a fandom term used for a male fictional character or celebrity who appears to have a bad boy persona, but fans reinterpret it as cute, adorable, or even kind-hearted.

And mother is a slang term used for women who are an iconic or prominent figure, such as actresses or celebrities in the entertainment industry.

Earlier this week, the Saltburn star appeared in a previous teaser as he prepared to host SNL for the first time.

In the humorous video, Elordi was seen rehearsing on stage, but his nervousness made it impossible for him to walk down a few steps, as all presenters have done in the past.

As he mentally prepared to try to get down the stairs, SNL comedians Punkie Johnson and Marcello Hernandez walked by.

Johnson then called over to Jacob to ask, “Hey man, you okay?” He didn’t respond and instead spoke to himself, saying, “They make it all look so easy.”

Flashbacks of other past presenters walking easily down the stairs prior to their opening monologues played in the clip.

Back to the present, Marcello asked, “Is he looking at the stairs?” The teaser then turned into a montage of Punkie and Hernandez cheering The Kissing Booth on and helping them down the stairs.

After finally gaining the confidence to walk down the stairs, the actor walked through the stage doors – only to trip over a mat and fall down the stairs, falling flat on his face.

Both SNL stars quickly ran away, allowing Elordi to say, “I’m fine,” as he tried to pry himself off the floor.

The latest teaser comes after it was reported that the Euphoria actor is still dating Lori Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia, despite speculation that the pair had split.

Sources informed TMZ Thursday that the couple — who first linked up in 2021 — was still together, adding that they are both currently in New York ahead of his SNL hosting gig.

According to the outlet, Olivia has also spent time around 30 Rockefeller Plaza and also near the actor’s dressing room.

An insider said this earlier on Wednesday We weekly that Elordi and Giannulli had separated. By August 2022, the couple had reportedly called it quits, but reconciled last year and were spotted on holiday in Italy in June 2023.

In addition to taking on hosting duties for SNL, Jacob has also been busy with awards season in full swing.

He was recently nominated for the Rising Star Award and Best Supporting Actor for his role in Saltburn at the BAFTA Film Awards – which take place in London next month on February 18.
