Jackson Warne hit by second heart attack tragedy two years on from father Shane Warne’s death
- Jackson Warne has suffered a second tragedy with a heart attack
- Warne, 25, lost his father Shane two years ago
- His community, Brighton, has been rocked by another death
Shane Warne’s son says it is more important than ever to maintain cardiovascular health after losing another member of his community to a heart attack.
Jackson lost his cricket legend father Shane to a heart attack in March 2022 and has campaigned for heart health across Australia.
Warne Sr. died while on holiday in Thailand, sending the sporting world into mourning.
Jackson has been at the forefront of the Shane Warne Legacy, which has helped bring free, non-invasive screening heart tests to the Australian public since its launch on Boxing Day last year.
He is now helping his local community in Brighton, Melbourne, after suffering another loss close to home.

Warne visited his old school in Brighton after the community was rocked by a death
“Yesterday I visited my old school at Brighton Grammar to launch a Shane Warne Legacy health check for Men’s Health Week,” he said on Thursday.
‘We have recently lost someone in the community to a heart attack and we hope this can help raise awareness of heart disease and also help the community in Brighton.
‘The machine will be free for the next two weeks and available to everyone in the area. Thank you for your support, Brighton Grammar.’
The key tests were first introduced at the MCG during Australia’s match against Pakistan, before Jackson, 25, took the Shane Warne Legacy to Adelaide for AFL’s Gather Round in April.
‘It was great to meet each other [SA Premier] Peter Malinauskas and I would like to personally thank you for your support! Thank you to the South Australian government for bringing us to Adelaide,” he said at the time.
“We are very grateful for this opportunity and we will save lives. There are a total of 36 machines spread across Adelaide Oval, Norwood Oval, Mount Barker and Elder Park.
“It’s going to be a great week.”
Shane remains at the forefront of the Warne family’s minds two years after his death. Last year they celebrated a second Christmas without the charismatic legend and his eldest daughter, Brooke, said the void is still felt by the family.

“We spent (Christmas) day all the way at Jackson and we had some of Dad’s friends and their kids there too, and it was a very special day,” Brooke said.
‘A tough day, but a very special day.
‘It was very special that everyone came together and we were able to laugh and drink and have a really nice day.’
