Jackie ‘O’ Henderson reveals the one American habit that enraged her – until she tried it herself
Jackie ‘O’ Henderson spent a lot of time traveling the US and recently brought her daughter Kitty to New York City.
And even though she loves the country, there’s one thing about the way Americans speak that gets her into trouble.
Speaking on KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O Show on Tuesday, the radio host said she finds it rude when people say “mmhmm.”
“It’s a very American thing to do,” she said.
“If I go to America and stand by the barista and say, ‘Can I have a latte with two sugars?’ and they say “mmhmm”.

“I always think ‘rude b**ch’. Why don’t you say, “Thanks, don’t worry.”‘
However, Kyle stood up for the baristas and told them not to say “OMG, thank you so much” over and over.
Although Jackie said she thinks it’s rude, she admitted she started it herself.
“I found myself eventually doing it,” she said.
‘And, my God, is it good! Because it’s a reaction to so many different things.’

To test it out, Kyle then told Jackie that her breath stinks, and she replied, “mmhmm.”
However, she couldn’t keep her face straight and started laughing.
“Wow, you didn’t seem so sure about that,” Kyle said.
Jackie said she wasn’t confident in saying it because she didn’t like him joking that her breath smelled bad.
