Jackie ‘O’ Henderson finally starts construction on her $13.25million ‘dream home’ in Sydney’s eastern suburbs

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has finally started work on her new ‘dream home’ in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, almost two years after purchasing the waterfront property.

The 49-year-old radio star shared videos on Instagram on Saturday of heavy construction equipment knocking down parts of the sprawling mansion.

One clip showed a large crane demolishing the walls of the original three-story home, which Jackie bought for $13.25 million in March 2023.

Another clip included a time-lapse of the decades-old six-bedroom house being torn apart stage by stage as the site was cleared for construction.

“And so it begins,” Jackie captioned the post as she shared her excitement about the upcoming construction.

The property is situated on a clifftop overlooking the ocean in the sought-after beachside suburb of Clovelly, 9km from the CBD.

Earlier this year, Jackie teased fans with a sneak peek at her incredible design plans for her “dream home,” which she says cost the star $5.05 million. Now to love.

Taking to her Instagram in February, the KIIS FM star showed off her plans to create a chic living space with stunning multi-million dollar views of the sea.

Another depicted a beautiful built-in outdoor swimming pool, built right on the seafront and surrounded by sculpted gardens and palm trees.

Jackie shared the snaps of her future home and tagged prestigious architects Madeleine Blanchfield in the post as she revealed who is behind the impressive structure.

A spokesperson for Jackie said the photos were fake[ups] of options of what her new home will look like’.

Jackie bought the property in March 2023 for a whopping $13.25 million at an open auction.

The house is located a little further away from the road and offers Jackie the privacy that she did not have in the narrow streets of her former address.

The high-profile media star had previously complained about pushy paparazzi as the reason for her sale of her previous home.

Jackie bought her new home after making a tidy $2 million profit on the sale of her old home in Woollahra, having paid $11 million for it in 2020.

Jackie has returned to Australia in recent days after enjoying a sun-soaked pre-Christmas getaway to Thailand.

She headed to the picturesque destination with her daughter Kitty, 14, who she shares with her ex-husband, photographer Lee Henderson.

Jackie hasn’t shied away from sharing a series of photos from the idyllic getaway on her Instagram page in recent days.

In one photo, Jackie was seen enjoying a dip in the balmy waters of the Phi Phi Islands as she enjoyed the relaxing trip.

The radio queen showed off her incredible figure as she posed in a backless swimsuit in the black and white photo.

In another shot, Jackie once again showed off her enviable physique as she posed in a vibrant yellow swimsuit as she enjoyed a day at the beach.

The mother-daughter trip abroad took place just days after Kitty celebrated her 14th birthday in Sydney earlier this month.

Jackie gushed over her daughter in a sweet Instagram post on the special day as she made sure the occasion was celebrated.

She shared a throwback photo of Kitty cuddling with their dog while praising her only child in a caption.

‘Happy 14th birthday to the kindest, funniest and most thoughtful girl I know. How did I get so lucky? I love you Kitty,” Jackie wrote alongside the image.

Jackie shares Kitty with her ex-husband Lee, whom she divorced in 2018 after 15 years of marriage.

During her Kyle and Jackie O Show in October, Jackie hinted that a lack of spontaneous romance in their relationship was a catalyst for the split.

“If you have a child, keep that in mind every now and then,” she told co-host Kyle Sandilands.

Kyle then suggested that the marriage might have been saved if she had spent more time preparing dinners for her husband.

“If you had a taco night on a Tuesday, it might have been a different ending,” he said. ‘Rissole Wednesday?’

Jackie responded, “I’m not saying that that alone will make it, I’m just saying that doing something nice for your partner is appreciated. Don’t be complacent.’
