Jack Whitehall reveals he cut jokes about girlfriend Roxy Horner from his script

Jack Whitehall has revealed that he once cut jokes about girlfriend Roxy Horner from his script while performing for her parents.

The comedian, 34, admitted he hadn’t done stand-up in a while and got “too nervous” to talk about the model, 31, while on stage.

On The Jonathan Ross Show, Jack said, “To be honest, I hadn’t done stand-up in a while, I’d done a lot of movies and was stuck on set.

“I love doing stand-up. I felt like I had things to talk about again. Before I knew it, I had written for an hour and was going on tour.’

Speaking about his girlfriend’s family being in the audience, he explained, “I had some routines about my girlfriend, but then I remembered her family was in the audience. I took out a few [of jokes] when I got too nervous… I saw her family and gave up halfway through the joke.”

Speaking of continuing his work in film, “Hopefully they’re going to do a Clifford the Big Red Dog 2, which I’ll be asked back about.” Jungle Cruise 2 too.’

Jack also said of his new, longer haircut: “I was recently tweeted about my long hair. I was told I look like a Tesco value Richard Hammond – I’m going to hang on.”

Jack added: ‘I would say, reluctantly, I’m trying to grow up. I’m 34, I don’t think that’s young. I wouldn’t go to Love Island again… I think I would have been great until the kit came out.”

It comes after Jack admitted that his girlfriend Roxy is the only one in control of his stand-up content.

The comedian has revealed all about their sex life and Roxy’s type 1 diabetes in his routines – all with the permission of the 31-year-old model.

He told The Sun: “Roxy will definitely get a veto. She can be a difficult audience for my kind of humor, but, touchingly, so far she’s been very accepting of me doing routines about her private life on stage.

“It’s a blessing she hasn’t said no to anything yet. Dating a comedian can be stressful because they will go on stage and tell a bunch of strangers all about your private life for the sake of comedy.

What is Type 1 Diabetes?

Type 1 diabetes causes the level of glucose (sugar) in your blood to become too high.

It happens when your body can’t produce enough of the hormone insulin, which regulates blood glucose.

You need daily insulin injections to control your blood glucose levels.

Managing type 1 diabetes can take some getting used to, but you can still do all the things you enjoy. This guide is here to help.

Type 1 diabetes is not linked to age or being overweight – these things are linked to type 2 diabetes.

‘I don’t want to say it [my tour] I am furious against the dying of the light [laughs] but it gives me a sense of this man child… getting through this moment in my life, losing half my friends to rehab, half my friends to babies and trying to figure out which way to go.”

Jack’s new stand-up comedy tour is called Settle Down and he talks about the recent big changes in his life and his struggles to settle down as an adult.
