A popular ABC radio presenter has suddenly quit her position at the national broadcaster.
Jacinta Parsons, a presenter on ABC Radio Melbourne’s Afternoons, announced on Thursday that she will be stepping back from the show starting next week.
Ms. Parsons told listeners at the beginning of her show that she had decided to quit her job so she could focus on her responsibilities outside of the ABC.
It is clear that she will continue to co-host The Friday Revue with ABC personality Brian Nankervis.

“Like so many, my life has gone through some changes in the last few months, which has meant making some changes to the way I can work,” said Ms Price.
“I’m desperately sad to say I need to scale back from the Afternoons show so I can keep up with my other responsibilities.
“I’m grateful to the ABC for their support and very excited to say I’m not going away completely – and will continue to join Brian Nankervis every Friday for the Friday Revue.”

Ms Parsons said her life ‘has undergone some changes in recent months’
Shelley Hadfield, ABC Radio Melbourne’s director of content, said Ms Price would remain a cherished member of the team.
“Jacinta was a lifeline for so many listeners at the height of the Covid pandemic,” said Shelley.
“We know Jacinta will be sorely missed on Afternoons, but she will remain an integral part of the station.”
It is clear that Ms. Price will pursue some part-time professional opportunities outside of national broadcasting.
The ABC said Radio Melbourne will announce an Afternoons replacement next week.
Mrs. Parsons’ last show is this Thursday, July 27.
