Oakland Athletics third baseman Jace Peterson made what could be one of the catches of the season on Saturday.
During the top of the second inning, Rangers midfielder Leody Taveras flew out on a weakly hit foul ball behind third base that Peterson tracked down.
What made the game special was not only that Peterson grabbed an over-the-shoulder while running at full speed, but he also hung on to the ball as his momentum sent him over the bullpen wall.
Unlike most stadiums, the A’s ballpark has the bullpens within the field of play with seating for pitchers, catchers, and coaches along the side.
Oakland would eventually lose the game 5-0 after starting pitcher Jon Gray took a no-hitter in the seventh inning. Nathaniel Lowe also homered to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.

Ezequiel Duran also connected with a two-run homer in the ninth for the AL West-leading Rangers, who are 24-15 for their best score in 39 games since going 25-14 in 2013.
Gray (3-1) was magnificent despite still a small crowd of 8,230 at the Coliseum.
The 31-year-old right-hander retired 20 of the first 22 batters he faced and walked a few while dominating baseball’s worst team.
“It was Jon Gray’s show,” said Texas manager Bruce Bochy.
“He threw a similar performance to the last one in Seattle. Threw a lot of strikes, good slider, good fastball.

“He mixed it up well. Our bullpen was a little beat up so we needed him to go deep and he gave us everything we expected.”
Gray put down the first two batters in the seventh before the light Peterson singled to right for the A’s first hit.
Peterson was later thrown out trying to score on a relay throw by second baseman Marcus Semien after Ramon Laureano’s double.
A’s manager Mark Kotsay challenged catcher Sandy Leon to block the plate, but the call was upheld after review.
