Memphis Grizzlies star Jars Jackson Jr. gave an insight into the mentality of his currently suspended teammate Ja Morant.

Morant has been suspended by the Grizzlies since mid-May after being seen brandishing a gun on an IG Live video.

There are indications that he will receive more penalties, but the exact suspension has not yet been announced.

Appearing on an episode of Clippers star Paul George’s podcast “Podcast P,” Jackson revealed that Morant may be suffering from the pressure of being a star athlete.

‘He is good. I think just growing up with so much attention to you, especially being so young, I mean, it’s a lot to deal with,” Jackson told George.

Jackson believes Morant will ‘go back to leading the league the way he does as soon as possible’

“I think you’re always going to make mistakes as you grow up, and people need to understand that you’re growing up and you’re the most popular player at this age, probably ever.

“And back then you couldn’t do a lot of things you could get away with. You have to be a certain way. But I mean dude is great.

‘People should always understand everyone as a human being, right? But that’s my brother. Does not matter what. I’m standing next to my brother.

“He’s going to lead the league the way he does. You don’t come jumping on everyone right away. Last year he should have been MVP. So, I mean, that guy is top notch.’

League Commissioner Adam Silver has said any additional discipline handed to Morant will not be revealed until after the NBA Finals.

The league suspended Morant for eight games earlier this season after a similar incident occurred at a Denver-area nightclub.

Jackson was selected fourth overall in the 2018 NBA Draft, one season ahead of Morant.
