I’ve spent 8 years and £2,000 modifying my body to look inhuman – now people call me a devil
Someone who has undergone body changes for a decade says he’s been branded “devil” by strangers, but insists he doesn’t care what others think.
Danny Englert, 24, has transformed their bodies into a unique creature called ‘Possession’ because they ‘don’t want to look human’.
The German body-modification fanatic spent eight years making sure every aspect of their face and body is as far removed from humanity as possible, including removing parts of their ears to look like a goblin and injecting them with ink in their eyes.
Although Possession, who is currently unemployed, is impressed by the ‘chaotic’ look, strangers are not so enthusiastic and often call them out, and some even attack them.
They explained: ‘I don’t like people and what they do to each other and the world they live in.

“I want to adjust myself until I am no longer recognized as a human being.
“I have tattoos on just over half of my body, but many of them are unfinished due to the chaotic nature of my project.”
Eight years after their first fitting and about £2,200 later, Possession has inked more than half their body surface and has gone to great lengths by sticking horns – also known as transdermal implants – into their heads and chests.
To complete the sharp look, Possession also injected ink into their gums and tongues to make them appear darker, and installed a new set of pointy teeth.
Possession started modifying their bodies at the age of 16, starting with a piercing, before quickly progressing to a full transformation.
Possession does almost all the changes themselves with the help of their friends and claims to have saved thousands of pounds in the process. They’ve gotten so good at it that they now modify other people’s bodies.
“I do almost all my mods, except implants, myself or get tattooed by my friends,” they said.
“I’ve been learning body modifications for a while now and my friends come to me for piercings, scarifications and minor body modifications.

“I think my goal is to make the people around me and myself look more tense. It’s my life’s work.”
One downside to their new lifestyle is unwanted attention from trolls. They are often attacked by strangers, and some even call them a “devil.”
On a night out with a friend, they claim they were kicked and punched, causing catastrophic damage to their new look.
They added: “People usually yell ‘devil’ or ’emo’, but that’s okay.
“Once upon a time three boys attacked a friend and me on the way home just because they looked different, and I lost one of my horns because of it.

“We were partying in a club and on our way home when some guys berated us.
“They ran up to us and started beating and kicking us. Neither of us are the strongest and couldn’t do much.
“One of my transdermal implants got so damaged that part of the plate came out of my head and I had to have it removed, but everything else was fine.”
Instead of wallowing in despair, they attributed it to typical “human” behavior and added it to “a list of reasons to dislike the human race.” However, it seems that Possession has no such views of their family “accepting.”
“I don’t really care what others think and say about my appearance because I do it for myself,” they continued.
“My family doesn’t like it very much, but they accept it and even support it.”
The body modification addict hopes to have their horns re-implanted in their heads and looks forward to seeing how they can customize their face and body even more.
“I’m really excited to see where this project will take me and how long it will take to complete.”
