A user on TikTok has made a list of the three best places to live in your twenties – and many viewers are debating his choices.
Content creator Taylor Offer says he’s lived in almost every major city in America and has previously made a video of his least favorites.
Offer’s new list shares the cities he has labeled as the best in America for people in their 20s to live: Los Angeles, Austin and New York City.
These famous cities are known to host popular events and include some of the biggest tourist attractions in the world.
Some of the reasons behind his favorite cities include the weather, activities, and the personalities of each location’s residents.
Taylor Offer has said that he has lived in almost every major American city. He states that the three main cities where twenty-somethings can live are Los Angeles, Austin and New York
Los Angeles, a popular city in California with a population of four million, and also a popular location for films, television and awards shows
According to Offer, his third favorite city is Los Angeles – his current hometown in California with almost four million inhabitants.
He said: “The weather is great all year round, lots of cool opportunities, but after COVID it was a bit disappointing.”
The content creator admitted that “West Hollywood turned into a*******” after people left the state due to the pandemic.
He then stated that those who live in LA should “live in Venice or Silver Lake.”
“There are some good places in LA – it’s not what it used to be, so it’s number three,” he concluded.
Offer gave several reasons why Austin is the second-best city to live in your 20s
He calls Austin a “great great place” to live, complimenting its people and its walkability
Austin is home to several corporate headquarters and regional officers of Fortune 500 companies, and it is also home to the annual SXSW conference and festivals
His second favorite city is Austin, the capital of Texas and the location of several headquarters and regional offices of Fortune 500 companies.

“Everything is walkable, everyone is negotiable, there are so many activities,” he continued.
The content creator also admitted that the weather in Austin is “bad a few months out of the year,” but otherwise it’s “great.”
He concluded that New York was the best city to live in in your twenties, despite the many negative aspects of living there
Some of the negatives he mentioned in this video are related to cost, weather and street environment
New York City is a popular tourist city with more than 8 million inhabitants. News programs such as The Today Show and Good Morning America are based in the area
He went on to name New York City as his favorite, and also addressed the many negatives about the location.
Offer stated, “I know there are a lot of negative things about New York City. It’s cold, it’s hot, the weather is terrible.’
He continued, “It smells like trash everywhere, there’s trash everywhere, there’s mice everywhere, it’s expensive – other than all that, New York City is the best place in the US to live in your 20s.”
The TikToker put the negative statements aside and started listing the positives the city has to offer.
“There’s so much to do, you’ll meet so many people, you’ll have so much fun, you’ll be so tired all the time… and you’ll hate it, but you’ll love it so much,” Offer said.
Several people on TikTok have been critical of Offer’s choices since the video was posted, but there have been occasional statements from people who agree with him
Users on TikTok had a field day with Offer’s choices.
Many of them disagreed with Offer’s choices and threw Chicago into the mix of favorites.
One person said, “If I had to live in a big city it would be Chicago. There’s a lot to do and much more beautiful than NYC.’
Another person said, “I love everyone here defending the Chi. Dude must never have been there.”
People also said Austin is “unwalkable,” and wondered why it would be listed as a favorite.

One Californian expressed his opinion about Los Angeles, saying, “San Diego over la. And I’m from La.
Some TikTokers agreed with the list, citing Los Angeles and New York as their top picks.
