Ivanka Trump said she believes her late mother Ivana was caring for her father Donald Trump when he survived an assassination attempt on Saturday.
The former eldest daughter said on Instagram that she believed Ivana was “watching over her father” when a would-be assassin fired on the former president at a rally in Pennsylvania.
“Today marks two years since my mother passed away. I believe she was watching over my father last night during the attempt on his life,” Ivanka wrote on Sunday.
“I miss her every day and pray for the safety of the family and friends she leaves behind.”
Ivana died in 2022 at the age of 73 after falling down the stairs in her Manhattan apartment.

In another post, Ivanka thanked her supporters and said she was “praying for America” after the act of “senseless violence.”
She also thanked the Secret Service for their response in capturing the shooter.
“I love you, Dad, today and always,” the former First Daughter wrote on X.
Trump’s youngest daughter Tiffany — with whom he had a second wife, Marla Maples — also thanked God for saving him.
Tiffany said, “The outpouring of love and support for my dad is so appreciated. Thank you God for keeping my dad alive.
“Political violence is never the answer. God bless the Secret Service and law enforcement who fearlessly intervened. Please keep the families of the victims in your prayers.”

After the shooting that left a bystander dead on Saturday, detectives were searching for clues about what motivated Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, to carry out the shocking attack.
The FBI said it was investigating it as a possible act of domestic terrorism, but the lack of a clear ideological motive in the man shot dead by the Secret Service has led to many conspiracy theories.
According to the FBI, Crooks, who had bomb-making materials in the car he drove to the meeting, acted alone.
Investigators found no threatening social media comments or ideological views that could explain why he targeted Trump before the Secret Service put the presumptive Republican presidential nominee onstage in blood.
Trump said on social media that the upper part of his right ear was pierced in the shooting, but advisers said he was in “great spirits” ahead of his arrival Sunday in Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention.
Two bystanders were seriously injured, while a former fire chief from the area, Corey Comperatore, was killed. The Pennsylvania governor said Comperatore, 50, died a hero by diving on his family to protect them.
