Ivanka Trump goes wild for the Mets as their shock playoff run continues

Raised by a New York Yankees fan and married to a supporter of the crosstown Mets, Ivanka Trump made her loyalties known as both teams continued their respective playoffs Wednesday night.

‘OMG! METS,” she wrote on

Francisco Lindor’s grand slam in the sixth inning helped propel the Mets to their first National League Championship Series since 2015. They now await the winner of Game 5 of the other NLDS series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres.

The Yankees, meanwhile, hold a 2-1 series lead over the upstart Kansas City Royals after Wednesday’s 3-2 win at Kauffman Stadium. A win on Thursday in Kansas City or Saturday in the Bronx will secure an ALCS berth against the winner of the Detroit Tigers-Cleveland Guardians series. The Tigers led 2-1 heading into Game 4 in Detroit on Thursday.

Donald Trump, of course, was a regular sight at Yankee Stadium during the Joe Torre era. Not only was he friends with longtime owner George Steinbrenner, but Trump also had close ties with his future attorney, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a diehard Yankees supporter.

But despite her father’s ties to the Yankees, Ivanka has been leaning toward Queens since her marriage to Jared Kushner in 2009.

No longer involved in her father’s political career, Ivanka joined Jared and their son Joseph at a Mets-Miami Marlins game at Citi Field in August.

Most importantly, Joseph met several Mets stars, including Lindor and left fielder Brandon Nimmo. The family was even allowed to step into the Mets’ dugout at one point.

Baseball has been a constant for the Trump family since Donald’s childhood in Queens. In fact, Trump previously boasted about his playing days on X: “I played football and baseball, sorry, but I said I was the best baseball player in the state of New York.”

Slate’s Leander Schaerlaeckens then revealed nine box scores from Trump’s high school games, in which he went 4 for 29 at the plate.

Trump said his baseball career was derailed when he attended a tryout with “another young boy named Willie McCovey.” However, the late Hall of Famer and legendary Giants slugger was born in Alabama in 1938 — eight years before Trump was born in Queens — making this claim unlikely to be true.

Ivanka and Kushner also took their sons to a Mets game last August.

And just like in 2023, Ivanka made sure to post about the trip on social media. This time the photos include photos of Joseph with Lindor, as well as a few photos from the dugout.

In addition to construction work in Belgrade, Serbia, Kusher hopes to turn part of Albania into a luxury resort.
