ITV cancels Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow for 2023 in ANOTHER scheduling change, after the BBC “snared the presenter for a new show”

Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow will not return to ITV for another series this year, after a programming change by the broadcaster.

The show, which started in 2020, will take a break for 2023 as the channel makes room to show the Rugby World Cup.

Building up to the sporting event, ITV will also not be showing The Masked Dancer this year, leaving fans furious when the news was announced earlier this week.

While all is not lost for presenter Alan Carr, as he has reportedly been “stolen” from the channel by the BBC for their new Saturday night TV lineup.

According Sunhas signed on to host his new quiz show Picture Slam.

Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow stirs up nostalgia by rebooting retro game shows like Bullseye and Name That Tune.

Starting in 2020, contestants appear on the show each week to compete for top prizes in a series of challenges.

While it is not known if the show will return in the future, the channel is resting for 2023 when the rugby competition begins.

The Rugby World Cup is scheduled to take place in France from September 8 to October 28, 2023.

It comes after reports this week that the BBC have hired Alan to host their new quiz show, Picture Slam.

He was heavily suggested to replace David Walliams on the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel, but lost the gig to Bruno Tonioli.

A television informant said Sun: ‘Getting the big money signing is payback for Alan, who was seen as a safe replacement for outgoing David Walliams as BGT judge.

“It was a slight to be competing for the position for months and to be knocked out of the race at the last minute, especially when Bruno rose to fame on a BBC show.

“Now Alan could be an even bigger star on Saturday night TV than he could have been had he gotten the part on the BGT panel.”

Alan was reportedly “devastated” to lose the Britain’s Got Talent job last month.

A source close to the show said: ‘It’s one of the most peculiar events in show business in recent years. They told Alan that he had the job and then suddenly Bruno’s name came up. It’s so strange.

‘Some ITV bosses are angry with the decision, their preference was for Alan, as were most of those involved with the show, who were genuinely delighted at the prospect of joining them for the series.
