It’s ‘too easy’ for terrorists to enter the US illegally and kill Americans with Biden’s ‘sheer stupidity’ at the border, Republicans warn after eight migrants with ISIS ties are arrested

Republicans are sounding the alarm about how “easy” President Joe Biden’s policies have made it for terrorists to enter the US — and potentially plan devastating attacks.

Eight Tajikistan nationals with possible ties to ISIS were arrested last week in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles in a coordinated sting by law enforcement, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

These terrorist-linked individuals all entered the country through the U.S.-Mexico border, ICE officials said New York Post that a wiretap showed that one of the suspects had discussed bombs, raising concerns that a horrific attack like 9/11 or the Boston Marathon bombing could happen again.

This set off alarm bells on Capitol Hill among GOP members who have for years called for border security reforms to keep terrorists and their friends out.

“Think about how easy it is to invade when as many as 15 million people come in over the course of four years,” Rep. Rich McCormick, a military veteran, told DailyMail.com, adding: “There are only 11 people needed’. regarding those who committed the September 11 attacks.

“We’ve seen that before,” he continued, calling the current border policy “pure stupidity.”

Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., told DailyMail.com, “I know there are cells established here in the United States as a result of the open border crisis.”

“And so this isn’t a question of if, the question is when will the next terrorist attack happen?”

“We have too porous a border to prevent a situation from developing that will lead to the loss of life, and it is tragic that the Biden administration has played politics with people’s lives.”

Cammack also blasted the White House for “abusing the asylum process to get people in here when they have no legitimate claims.”

Two ICE officials said they only arrested the suspected terrorist ties last week after the FBI raised alarms about their ties to ISIS.

The suspects are originally from Tajikistan and also have Russian nationality, according to the Post.

Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., didn’t mince his words in blaming Biden.

“We’ve seen more than 300 known terrorists come through the southern border, all under Joe Biden’s watch. He doesn’t care about the safety and security of the American people. He believes it is important to let in as many illegals as possible, regardless of the outcome for the safety and security of Americans.”

And Tennessee Republican Rep. Chuck Fleischmann told DailyMail.com he is “afraid” of what could happen to American citizens during a possible terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

‘For four years we had a porous border under President Biden, he encouraged illegal immigration. People have come across the border. The reality is that we don’t know who all is here. That scares me.’

After the eight detainees entered the U.S. through the southern border last spring and went through the government’s screening process, preliminary searches turned up no information that would have identified them as potential terrorism-related problems.

They are being held on immigration violations and are in the custody of ICE, which made the arrests while working with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF).

The terrorist affiliates are currently facing proceedings to remove them from the country.

An ICE official familiar with the sting told The Post that one of the suspects had mentioned bombs, adding, “Do you remember the Boston Marathon (bombing)? I’m afraid something like this could happen again, or worse.’

The suspect in question has previously been involved in law enforcement and had a court date next year, according to the source.

“We know there are people, bad guys from about 60 different countries around the world, all hating the United States, infiltrating our southern border, and in some cases our northern border,” said Rep. Jack Bergman. R-Mich., a retired three-star general.

Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas, told DailyMail.com “Biden has opened (the U.S.) up to terrorists.”

Rep. Rich McCormick said it would be “easy” for terrorists to invade the US, adding that it only took 11 people to carry out the September 11 attacks, shown above.

The latest infiltration by ISIS-linked migrants comes as top law enforcement officials warned that the threat of a terrorist attack in the US has increased “vastly” in recent months.

Attorney General Merrick Garland made this astonishing admission while testifying before the House Judiciary Committee last Tuesday during a hearing devoted to investigating the department’s politicization.

“I am concerned about the possibility of a terrorist attack in the country after October 7,” said Attorney General Garland. “The threat level to us has increased enormously.”

‘Every morning we worry about this question. We are trying to hunt down anyone who wants to harm the country,” he continued. “This is obviously an important priority for the Ministry of Justice.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray, speaking to another committee on the other side of Capitol Hill in the Senate, agreed, saying, “We have seen the threat from foreign terrorists rise to a whole other level” after the terrorist attack from Hamas on October 7.

“We have seen a rouges gallery of foreign terrorist organizations calling for attacks on Americans and our allies,” Wray said.

“Just during my time as FBI director, we have disrupted multiple terrorist attacks around American cities.”

“It would be hard for me to think of a time when so many different threats to our public safety and national security were so great at the same time.”

Wray said threats against Jewish Americans have been particularly acute.

“We have seen an increased threat to the Jewish community in the United States.”

Although he said Jewish communities were targeted before the Oct. 7 attack, threats have “increased dramatically” since then.

“Religiously motivated hate crimes, almost 60 percent of them, are against the Jewish community,” Wray testified, noting that the community makes up only two percent of the U.S. population.

“Increasingly worrying is the potential for a coordinated attack here at home, similar to an attack we saw in the Russian theater,” he added, referring to the recordings of the Crocus City Hall concert in March.

According to the FBI chief, one vector for threats is to enter the country through the US-Mexico border.
