Italy international Benedetta Orsi scores horrifying OWN GOAL at Women’s World Cup to put South Africa back in the game
Italy international Benedetta Orsi suffered an embarrassing blunder at the Women’s World Cup by scoring a bizarre own goal against South Africa.
Elena Linari had intercepted a long ball from South Africa and played it to Orsi – who was barely under pressure from Jermaine Seoposenwe.
Orsi decided to play it back to Italy goalkeeper Francesca Durante, but didn’t look up before executing the pass.
As a result, Orsi failed to notice that Durante was out of position and played the ball into an empty net.
