Italian media claim Newcastle ‘AREN’T WORTHY’ of their Champions League place as Mail Sport’s CRAIG HOPE previews Eddie Howe’s European opener against AC Milan
- Newcastle will take on AC Milan in the Champions League at the San Siro on Tuesday
- Eddie Howe’s team is also in a group alongside PSG and Borussia Dortmund
- Italian media have criticized Newcastle by insisting they are now ‘less scary’
Italian media have concluded that Newcastle are not ‘worthy’ of their place in the Champions League, as AC Milan prepare to host Eddie Howe’s side at San Siro on Tuesday.
Newcastle kick off their European season in one of football’s most iconic stadiums and will look to get off to a flying start against a Milan side still licking the wounds from a 5-1 defeat to rivals Inter last weekend.
Sandro Tonali returns to his former club for the first time since his £52million summer move to the North East of England and has been identified as the ‘dangerous man’ by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper has also tried to upset Newcastle by pointing out that the recent defeats are ‘less scary’ than the day the Champions League draw took place.
Mail Sport’s north-east football correspondent Craig Hope reveals what the Italian media have been saying about Newcastle in his newspaper analysis video from Milan below.
