We’ve previously praised Genestealer Cults here at Polygon as one of the cheapest ways to get started Warhammer 40,000, and the little purple critters are back with a vengeance in 2024. A new 10th Edition Codex is on the way and, like the Sororitas above, it’s paired with a new Battleforce starting army and a Combat Patrol. It’s the smaller Combat Patrol box that really caught our attention here, as it comes with a standard vehicle, a quad bike with heavy weapons and no fewer than five cultists on dirt bikes. That should make this one of the most mobile small unit troops in the game! Prices and availability will follow more information promised in the coming weeks and months.

Plastic Adeptus Mechanicus units for The Horus Heresy

Warhammer: The Horus Heresy is getting a boatload of new plastic miniatures for the Cult Mechanicum – the first in the line’s history. That includes a dashing, art deco-inspired transport vehicle that can take them all into battle the promise of more unique units to come. Once again, no pricing or availability information was shared, but these products are nevertheless expected to arrive soon.

Necromunda is getting a major new expansion

Finally, perhaps the biggest news of the weekend is Games Workshop’s continued expansion Necromunde universe. It is already one of the most vibrant and exciting sectors of ‘the hobby’ as it is called. Necromunda: Beehive Secundus looks like a new starter set in every respect. However, Games Workshop describes it as “a full game in a box”, noting that it includes a linked two-player campaign. Prices and availability: say it with me! – will be announced at a later date.
