It took me a year to notice my 11-year-old daughter’s hoodie has a very rude pattern!
A mother has warned parents after noticing a surprising oddity on her teenage daughter’s hoodie.
An unnamed British mother who passes by @resolutera on TikTok recently had a clamp on her account describing her horror to her 37,000 followers, but people think she’s overreacting.
She started the nine-second video pointing to a gray camouflage hoodie, which her caption explained she bought 11 months ago.
The mother said: ‘PSA for the Christmas shopping parents, I bought this for my daughter last year, I thought these were elves.’
Pointing to the silver zippers, the aggrieved mother explained that she had it all wrong, saying, “Uh, uh, [they’re] strippers. And upon closer inspection, the whole pattern is strippers!’
A British mother was shocked to see that the silver details on her 11-year-old daughter’s hoodie belonged to a stripper, although some TikTok users have disputed the claims
One commenter reassured her that the design wasn’t obvious at first glance, saying, “To be fair, it looks like camo,” and another reminded her of popular Italian sportswear brand Kappa and similar designs.
Another said that everyone has been there in their younger years.
“Just like when we were teenagers walking around wearing Playboy clothes without knowing what it stood for,” the newspaper wrote.
And another admitted she was slow to notice the provocative details, saying: ‘Damn, I did that too! My daughter walked around in it for a year.’
Although some users admitted that it took time to notice the pattern, many had no problems with the clothes and emphasized that the silhouette of a woman’s body was not embarrassing.
A user asked the TikToker, “Why do you assume they are dancers? What’s wrong with being a dancer? They’re just silhouettes of women.’
However, the parent hit back and made it clear that she had done pole fitness herself, but that she felt it was not appropriate for her eleven-year-old daughter.
Another user added: ‘I don’t see them as strippers, just women who celebrate their bodies. And even if it were, it’s a legitimate job.”
And one user explained: ‘It’s not meant to be sexual, it’s just the print. Named Collective is the brand, not all their hoodies have this design.”
The Named Collective Unrealistic Ideals Hoodie in Snow Camouflage retails for an eye-watering £80 – and looks just like a normal hoodie until you check the zip
TikTok users criticized the content creator, who later hit back by explaining that she did pole fitness
Another user said: ‘It’s literally just a silhouette of a woman, it’s not that deep.’
One pole dancer expressed her admiration for the garment in the comments, saying: ‘I want this, I need this’.
The content creator recommended the purchase, saying, “I used to do pole fitness [and] had the best time! You should definitely buy that.’
The hoodie is listed on the Named Collective website as the Unrealistic Ideals hoodie in snow camouflage, retailing for £80.
