He left his teamβs game against Buffalo on Thursday night after running into defensive back Damar Hamlin and hitting his head on the turf. Tagovailoa was on the ground for about two minutes into the third quarter before he walked to the sideline. He quickly walked to the tunnel and looked up into the stands before smiling as he headed toward the locker room.
The Dolphins later announced it was a concussion. The team said he has two in the 2022 season, and Tagovailoa was diagnosed with another concussion while a college player at Alabama. Tagovailoa signed a four-year, $212 million extension before this season, making him one of the highest-paid players in the league, and was the NFLβs leading passer in Week 1. Tagovailoa left with the Dolphins trailing 31-10, which was the final score.
