It looks like a new Motorola Razr flip foldable is coming to the market soon

Our Motorola Razr Plus 2024 review has been online for a few months now, but it looks like Motorola isn’t done launching foldable phones this year. A new leak has revealed a previously unknown foldable device.

The phone in question is the Motorola Razr 50s: as noted by Android HeadlinesJapanese carrier SoftBank has already started taking reservations for the device, even though it has not yet been officially unveiled by Motorola.

That name will be a little clearer to you when we tell you that the Motorola Razr Plus 2024 is known as the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra outside the US, while the standard Motorola Razr 2024 goes by the Motorola Razr 50 internationally.

When you add all that up, it’s clear that this new Razr 50s model will be a variation on what we already have. However, we don’t yet know what the device will be called in the US, if it will even launch in that part of the world.

Specifications and release date

Motorola tends to release different versions of phones in different regions, and even when models are similar in different countries, they often get different names. Trying to tease out product lineups from leaks becomes even trickier.

We’ve heard rumors about this Motorola Razr 50s flip foldable before, as it appeared in a regulatory document earlier this month – indicating that HDR 10+ support would be on board (though not much else was said on that front).

Experienced tipster @OnLeaks has also posted some photos and specs of the device. These specs – which include a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 4,200mAh battery – match up almost exactly with the existing Razr 50 (though that phone has the option of 12GB of RAM and 8GB).

It seems like this phone won’t be much different from what we already have, although we’ll have to wait and see when it becomes official. The same source says that a real unveiling of the phone is scheduled for this Friday, September 27th.
