Kate Middleton reminisced about her marriage during a royal walk today, confessing that the past 12 years have “gone by in a flash.”
The King and the Prince and Princess of Wales thrilled royal fans at The Mall when they made a surprise appearance to greet well-wishers less than 24 hours before the coronation this afternoon.
The royal mother-of-three looked elegant for the occasion, wearing a smart white dress with a black hemline and a pair of £490 Aquazzura heels.
Kate appeared in high spirits when she stopped and chatted with a royal fan, who confessed that she had also been to The Mall to watch Kate and William’s 2011 wedding.
The princess seemed touched and said, “It just feels like a few days ago and now we’re just — it’s been 12 years.” It feels like it went by in such a flash.”

Kate and William celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary just days ago and shared a heartwarming new photo from a family day out in Sandringham.
Pictured, the pair looked more in love than ever in a sweet outdoor photo posted to their social media accounts.
The portrait, taken by environmental photographer Matt Porteous, saw the royal couple cycling in the Norfolk countryside with their arms wrapped around each other.
The image is believed to be from a series shared on Mother’s Day and Christmas 2022 – and is now the fourth image we’ve seen from this particular day.
The Mother’s Day photos showed Kate spending quality time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – while Prince William was nowhere to be seen.
But the future king appears in the recently revealed photo, smiling with his arm around his wife as the pair enjoy a quiet bike ride away from the kids.
It was simply titled ’12 Years’ – with a red emoji heart.

The road leading to Buckingham Palace was cleared and royal fans eagerly lined the route.
People cheered and ‘God Save the King’ could be heard shouting as the high-ranking figures of the monarchy arrived to shake hands with the benefactors.
Royal superfans were blown away by the visit, which came just hours after a downpour saw thousands of people camp out at The Mall, with one person telling Sky News: ‘This is the happiest moment of my life.’
The King went to one side of The Mall while William and Kate went to another side to greet the benefactors. A woman said to Charles “Love you Charlie” while others congratulated him.

Earlier, the king took part in a final coronation rehearsal at Westminster Abbey, where a 2,300-strong congregation and a television audience likely to run into the tens of millions will watch him be crowned on Saturday.
As tensions mount for Britain’s first coronation in 70 years, Charles and Kate joined a VIP luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

His Majesty was joined by working royals at a special event for Prime Ministers and Governors General at the Palace from noon, just after the heavens opened to London.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence were in attendance. The royal contingent was completed by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent. But there was no invitation for Prince Andrew, who was seen passing through Windsor this lunchtime.
A total of 42 attended, including British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Republican Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese, and Prime Minister of New Zealand Chris Hipkins.
Charles, Queen Consort Camilla and Prince William were at Westminster Abbey this morning for final rehearsals for tomorrow’s coronation, around the time Prince Harry may have landed in the UK.
His Majesty and his wife waved to the crowd as he was driven through The Mall to the church for further preparations, before undergoing a series of diplomatic duties, including hosting a Buckingham Palace luncheon for VIPs.
But the monarch looked shocked by the torrential rain as he passed thousands of people camped along the route from the abbey to the palace, including the overcrowded Mall, dubbed Chaztonbury because of the sheer numbers camped there.
