IT consultant accused of murdering CashApp founder Bob Lee is on SUICIDE WATCH

An IT consultant accused of stabbing CashApp founder Bob Lee to death in San Francisco is now on suicide watch at the city’s jail, his lawyer said.

Paula Canny, the attorney representing 38-year-old suspect Nima Momeni, said: “As is the standard process in high-profile cases in San Francisco, the prison always treats it as a high-risk suicide.”

Speaking to the New York Post, Canny also confirmed that Lee knew Momeni’s glamorous sister Khazar Elyassnia — and was closer to her than Momeni herself.

Canny claimed that Lee and Khazar were good friends and that Momeni had only met Lee through his sibling.

She said, “Bob Lee and his sister definitely knew each other.

“There is a group of well-to-do young people who like to party.”

Lee was stabbed three times in the heart on April 4 after arguing with Momeni over Khazar, prosecutors say.

Disturbing video footage first obtained by DailyMail.com showed Lee stumbling through the streets of downtown San Francisco before collapsing and dying from his injuries.

The suspected killer is said to have been grilling Lee about whether Khazar had “used drugs or anything inappropriate.”

Khazar is married to Dr. Dino Elyassnia, one of San Francisco’s top plastic surgeons.

An unnamed witness who said he had been friends with Bob for 10 years told police he believed Lee and Khazar had an intimate relationship and that her marriage may have been “in jeopardy.”

At 2:03 a.m., Lee and Nima left the apartment building and got into Nima’s BMW, which had offered to drive him to his hotel.

Instead, prosecutors say he took him to a shady downtown street, where he stabbed him three times, including once in the heart, and fled.

Both he and Khazar lived in Mill Valley, an exclusive suburb of San Francisco, before Lee moved to Miami last October.

In a text to Lee earlier in the day, she gushed, “Just wanted to make sure you’re okay because I know Nima came at you really hard and thank you for being such a classy man who did it with class.” tackles.

“I love your selfish pr***s.”

On April 4, Lee was filmed on surveillance cameras as he stumbled into a downtown San Francisco apartment building at 2:35 a.m. after being stabbed. Police later searched the nearby apartment of Momeni's sister, Khazar. It is unclear whether they had been together or in the apartment earlier in the evening

Canny said Momeni’s family was “deeply affected” by his arrest for Lee’s murder, and that the murder suspect’s mother is “heartbroken” by the shame inflicted on her family.

The lawyer also said she has yet to see any evidence linking her client to the murder.

She told the Post, “He was with Bob Lee that night, but prosecutors say he was with Bob Lee when he was killed.

“I’m like, ‘OK, please show me that evidence.’

“While they made this swift arrest, I have none of the supporting documents accompanying the arrest warrant.

“The police aren’t saying what happened.”

Momeni is due to appear in court again on April 25 for his arraignment.

On Friday, Canny claimed there’s a lot more to this story that stands out.

“There’s so much more to it — and a much bigger backstory than what’s been revealed in the government’s pleadings at all,” she said.

She warned that the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office “seem to think they have enough to make an arrest, but I haven’t seen it.”

“So, until I see it and analyze it, I’m going to say they made a mistake,” she added. ‘There isn’t enough [to hold him].’

An arrest warrant filed Friday by prosecutors working under Mayor London Breed exposes how prosecutors believe Momeni stabbed the millionaire with a kitchen knife in an attack they described as “planned” and “intentional.”

Seemingly undeterred by the city’s argument — which claimed Momeni had driven Lee to a “remote area” before being stabbed on the morning of April 4 — Canny added that such motions are generally “deemed inadmissible because they don’t cite sources.
