An Israeli festival-goer has described the terrifying moment Hamas gunmen stormed a dance festival and opened fire on anyone they saw as people ran for their lives.

A terrified Gili Yoskovich hid under a trembling tree for three hours as bullets rained down around her as terrorists opened fire Saturday morning on defenseless revelers in an all-night trance music frenzy near Kibbutz Re’im, near the Strip Gaza.

The mother described how young people – whose night celebrating the end of the religious holiday of Sukkot had turned to terror – were dying around her and in the streets as Hamas militants went ‘tree to tree’ shooting.

As the callous gunmen opened fire, Gili ran for her life and hid under a fruit tree in the middle of the field where she stood until she heard people speaking in Hebrew and was rescued by Israeli soldiers.

“I saw that people were dying all around. I was very calm. I didn’t cry, I didn’t do anything,” she told the BBC.

“I was breathing, saying, ‘OK, I’m going to die.’ It’s okay, just breathe, close your eyes.”

Footage posted on TikTok showed festival goers seemingly oblivious to the impending terror floating hundreds of meters above their heads in the distance.

The footage, shot just after sunrise, sees the eagle-eyed cameraman suddenly zoom in on gray dots in the air, which turn out to be Palestinian militants.

Hamas fighters managed to infiltrate Israel essentially undetected by paragliding across the normally heavily guarded border.

Moments later, the dancing stops and terror ensues as festival goers are forced to run for their lives as armed Hamas fighters begin shooting and kidnapping anyone in their path.

The party-goers were surrounded as the terrorists came upon them ‘from four or five places’ and started shooting at the fleeing people.

Gili described the horror of people dying around her and said: “They were going tree to tree and shooting. Everywhere. From two sides. I saw people dying all around. I was very calm. I didn’t cry, I didn’t do anything.”

Hamas militants were heard opening a ‘big van’ to grab more weapons and remained in the area for three hours and came within striking distance of Gili.

Gili lay still thinking of her children saying to herself ‘it is not yet time to die’. But ‘the craziest thing’, she says, was how they were there for hours without the army coming to their rescue.

“Then I started hearing a little bit of Hebrew on one side, (but) Arabic on three sides. I realized that there were several soldiers, maybe five or six.

“I decided to go to these soldiers. Meanwhile there were still terrorists around, so I was going with my hands up so they know it’s me and I’m not a terrorist. Then someone was giving me a ride in a car.

“I was the first to leave the field. Others took another two or three hours to get out (and) all along the way people were dying – all along the way, young people, (as) it is a festival for young people.’
