Awkward! Isla Fisher discussed her Valentine’s Day plans with Sacha Baron Cohen on The Kelly Clarkson Show just TWO MONTHS AGO – despite now saying they split last year

Isla Fisher discussed spending Valentine’s Day with husband Sacha Baron Cohen on The Kelly Clarkson Show two months ago, despite revealing they filed for divorce together last year in a shock statement on Friday.

The 48-year-old Australian actress looked as smitten as ever with her husband, 52, as she chatted with the talk show host, even though the pair had already gone their separate ways.

When host Kelly Clarkson asked about the couple’s plans on Feb. 14, she revealed Cohen’s good-natured tradition.

“Every year Sacha gives me a card that says ‘Happy Valentine’s Day from…’ and then there’s a huge question mark, as if anyone else would do that… as if I have any other Valentines,” Fisher explained with a laugh.

But according to the estranged couple’s statement, they were already exes by the time Valentine’s Day arrived.

The stars’ divorce statement was typed over a throwback image of them posing together in white tennis outfits.

It read: ‘After a long tennis match of more than twenty years, we finally put down our rackets.

‘In 2023 we jointly filed an application to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy and have been working through this change quietly.

“We share forever in our devotion and love for our children. We very much appreciate that you respect our family’s wishes for privacy.’

The couple met in 2001 and married in 2010. They are parents to daughters Olive, 17, and Elula, 13, and son Montgomery, nine.

The announcement comes after Rebel Wilson made shocking claims about her experience with ‘a**hole’ comedian Sacha in her new memoir, Rebel Rising.

Rebel played Borat star Sacha’s on-screen girlfriend in the 2016 comedy The Brothers Grimsby and made a series of accusations about her awkward experience during filming.

She claimed Sacha asked her on the set of the Louis Leterrier-directed film to undress for scenes – despite her ‘no nudity’ rule – in a series of claims he has denied and which she says are contradicted by evidence.

When host Kelly Clarkson asked about the couple’s plans for February 14 earlier this year, Isla revealed Cohen’s good-natured tradition of giving her a card and having her guess who it’s from.

Last summer, their marriage seemed to be going well when Cohen shared a loving snapshot with his wife

Last summer, their marriage seemed to be going well when Cohen shared a loving snapshot with his wife.

And on their twentieth anniversary in December 2021, Sacha wrote a thoughtful tribute to his wife on Instagram.

Sharing a collection of throwback photos, he wrote, “Happy anniversary. 20 YEARS.’

Quoting Winnie the Pooh, he added: “If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.’

And in keeping with his trademark sense of humor, he finished the caption: “Happy anniversary, my love. I’m writing this instead of giving you a card. Our duration is largely due to our location – after all, Hollywood is the bastion of long-term marriages.”
