Is THIS the snap that proves Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are brothers?

A new image of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson has added fuel to the actor’s recent claims that they could be related.

The Oscar winner, 53, had previously shared his suspicions that his mother Mary had had a sexual encounter with Woody’s assassin father Charles after she made a cryptic comment about knowing the late convict.

And in a new photo of the longtime friends, Matthew and Woody bear an uncanny resemblance after starring in the Apple TV+ comedy series Brother From Another Mother.

Speak on the Let’s talk off camera with Kelly Ripa podcast, Matthew admitted that his mother’s comment about Woody’s father, a hitman, who died in prison in 2007 prompted him to research his family history, but the pair have yet to undergo a DNA test.

He said, ‘You know where I start and where he ends, and where he begins and I end, has always been a dark line. And that’s part of our bromance, right?

Terrifying resemblance! A new image of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson has added fuel to the actor’s recent claims they could be related

“My kids call him Uncle Woody. His kids call me Uncle Matthew. And you see pictures of us and my family think a lot of pictures of him are me. His family thinks a lot of my pictures are him.’

“A few years ago we were in Greece talking about how close we are and our families. And my mother is there, and she says, “Woody, I knew your father.” Everyone knew about the ellipses my mother left after “knew.” It was a loaded KNEW.

“We proceeded to unpack what this ‘knew’ meant, and did some math and found that out [Woody’s] father was on leave at the same time my father and mother were getting divorced for the second time.

“Then there are possible receipts and places in West Texas where there might have been a meeting, or a meeting, or a ‘knew’ moment.”

The Interstellar star added in the podcast: “Look, it’s a little bit easier for Woody to say, ‘Come on, let’s do [DNA tests]”Because what’s in it for him?”

“It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take the chance to say, ‘Wait a minute, you’re trying to tell me that maybe my dad isn’t my dad after believing that for 53 years?’ I got a little more skin in the game.”

While Woody’s father Charles died of a heart attack in his cell 16 years ago, the woman believed to be his mother, Diane Lou Oswald, is still alive.

Charles was sentenced to life in prison for the fatal shooting of Judge Wood Jr. in San Antonio, Texas in 1979, and Woody visited him regularly until his death at age 69.

Friends: Matthew made the revelation in a recent interview as he and longtime friends Woody prepare to star in the Apple TV+ comedy series Brother From Another Mother

Of his father, Woody said, “He is one of the most eloquent, well-read, charming people I have ever known.

“Yet I am only now gauging whether he deserves my loyalty or friendship. I see him as someone who could be more of a friend than someone who was a father.’

Matthew and Woody, along with their families, will star in the new Apple TV+ series.

The show will focus on the “strange and beautiful bond” between the pair, who play themselves on the series, producers said in a synopsis.

The friendship between the Texas-born stars will be “tested when their combined families try to live together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.”

Both appeared in eight episodes of the Emmy award-winning HBO crime drama True Detective in 2014.

McConaughey played the role of Detective Rust Cohle, while Harrelson played Detective Marty Hart in the acclaimed TV series.

Both actors were nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2014 for their efforts as Louisiana State Police detectives on the series.

The show was also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series that year, with both serving as executive producers.

The old friends have also appeared in three comedy films together, including 1998’s Welcome to Hollywood, 1999’s EDtv, and 2008’s Surfer Dude.
