The Green Bay Packers have turned to technology to galvanize their bid for Super Bowl glory, introducing a ‘Seeker’ to practice.

The Seeker was invented in 2020 by a company called Monarc – its selling point being that wide receivers and tight ends can hone their skills and maintain social distancing to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Now, two years later, the Packers have become the first team to use the technology in practice as it prepares for the new campaign.

The system itself is similar to a JUGS machine that many teams use, which throws passes, punts and kickoffs to any part of a field.

But the Seeker appears to be an upgrade. It can produce 500 throws an hour, according to USA Today, and its punts and kickoffs travel up to 75mph.

ESPN reporter Rob Demovsky, who covers the Packers, shared video of the technology in action for the team.

He claimed that Packers linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti joked about the new software that: ‘This is how the robots are going to win the war.’
