Is this FINALLY the start of the Cybertruck rollout? Leaked video shows Tesla shooting promotional footage of the EV being trailed by a camera crew in Iceland
A video of Tesla making a promotional video of its Cybertruck driving through Iceland’s snowy landscape has leaked online.
The EV was spotted chasing another vehicle with a camera crew in the boot, suggesting the Elon Musk-founded company is gearing up for its much-anticipated launch — around 1.5 million people have pre-ordered one.
Early customers paid $100 to secure their model, which has been delayed for more than three years.
But the video and Musk announcing that the first unit will roll off the assembly line in July suggest that the Cybertruck rollout will happen sooner rather than later.

The footage comes a day after an internal Tesla email emerged threatening to fire employees caught taking photos of the Cybertruck.
The communication is likely due to many leaks from staff working closely with the vehicle plagued by delays.
The email to employees reads: “Effective today, any employee or contractor on site may take photos or videos of anything related to the Cybertruck (e.g. vehicle, parts, production line, etc.) without an official business need/ justification (i.e. dictated by role/scope and validated by security during initial contact) are immediately escorted out pending HR investigation and follow-up contact.
“The CT team will be issuing photo passes/stickers to appropriate personnel in the future to expedite interaction with security for business-related photography/videography.”
It’s unclear who leaked the promotional video, but the footage suggests the Cybertruck will likely handle it well in winter conditions.
But the shot indicates that Tesla is ramping up marketing for the vehicle, which is more than a year behind its original launch date.
The Cybertruck – available from €39,000 – became a sensation when it was unveiled to the world in November 2019.

The celebrated event quickly became a nightmare for Musk after the glass of his new electric “Cybertruck” was smashed just after he boasted it was “unbreakable.”
During the announcement of the truck — which looks like an armored vehicle with angular sides — Tesla design chief Franz von Holshausen tried to prove the glass was “unbreakable” by throwing a heavy metal ball at close range.
Musk was heard muttering “oh my damn God” as the glass shattered.
Some speculated that the hiccup may have been part of the show, but it didn’t stop people from reserving one for themselves.
The waiting list without reservation is at least three years from the delivery of the first Cybertruck.
Musk had promised production would begin in early 2021, but that date disappeared. And every year a new date is set and missed.

The CEO has previously blamed battery delivery for the delay, saying each Cybertruck would cost “literally a million dollars a piece or more” if Tesla had started production of the futuristic vehicle in 2021.
However, in July, Musk finally made the first vehicle at Giga Texas’ plant in Austin.
A photo showed more than 100 employees in hard hats and safety vests surrounding the vehicle in the 10 million square foot facility.
Two months earlier, the world got a look at the interior for the first time, which caused division among fans.
One Twitter user said that “the interior of the Cybertruck looks like it came out of a low-budget 1980s sci-fi prop,” while others called the dark gray cabin downright “ugly.”
However, some users find that the interior looks “simple and clean” and “like the overall look.”
The images, shared on a Cybertruck enthusiast forum, aren’t confirmed, but they show a huge inner screen, futuristic-looking seat controllers, and a bare-bones cabin.

The photos show a view from the driver and passenger seats and a side shot inside the Cybertruck, which the Cybertruck Owners Club shared.
There is a huge display in the center of the dashboard, but wires can be seen at the back.
Twitter user Facts Chaser tweeted, “Why is the screen being activated via this DIY wire assembly almost four years after its unveiling?”
The user also highlighted a feature to the diver’s left: a small diamond-shaped window.
“That monstrosity on the A-pillar looks like it would seriously obscure visibility,” he tweeted.
The center console has a panel design as a lid that slides open and closed, similar to what was in the early Model S and X vehicles.
However, fans are more disappointed with the Cybertruck’s lack of a third center front seat, which has been rumored since the vehicle’s debut in 2019.
What the seats do have are controllers that come in the same finish as the exterior and are crafted in unique designs that some fans have been thrilled to see.
