Is Roman Kemp engaged? One Show host’s girlfriend spotted wearing ring on her finger as friends say his mum Shirlie is ‘over the moon’

It looks like Roman Kemp has taken his relationship with girlfriend Carmen Gaggero to the next level as friends say he is engaged.

The One Show host’s romance with Carmen was only revealed last month when they were spotted on a date at Le Petit Maison in Mayfair and the model was recently spotted with a ring on her engagement finger.

A source told MailOnline that 31-year-old Roman – the son of Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp and singer Shirlie Holliman – is more than ready to settle down and believes he has found it in Carmen.

They said, ‘Roman popped the question and Carmen said yes. Roman has wanted to settle down and start a family for a long time, so it’s an exciting time for them.

‘He has had Carmen for a few months now and he has a strong feeling that she is the one.

Carmen, a production and casting assistant, describes herself as a “TV, film and fashion lover” according to her online biography.

She grew up in Brighton and has had a mix of experience in the industry, having worked for both Conde Nast and LuckyChap Entertainment.

The radio DJ tends to keep his love life out of the spotlight.

Although the couple has kept their relationship a secret, they were previously spotted together earlier this year.

Carmen also stood next to Roman as he chatted with the Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla at the Sovereign’s Creative Industries Garden Party in May.

Roman previously dated his ex-girlfriend Anne-Sophie Flury for three years, but the couple split in 2020.

Carmen also stood next to Roman as he chatted with the Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla at the Sovereign’s Creative Industries Garden Party in May.

He was later linked to radio colleague Codie Jones and German model Jette Kerkoff, but never confirmed a relationship with either.

The presenter also previously confessed that he ‘doesn’t date English girls’ because he likes it when a potential love interest doesn’t know who he is.

In the Diary Of A CEO podcast about his dating life, Roman explained that he is most attracted to independent women and is desperate for a relationship that can rival his parents’ 34-year marriage.

‘Women who have their life plan and are busier, that appeals to me more than anything.

“Look at the girls I’ve dated in the past, they’re girls who do their own thing and are damn good at it,” he said.

Roman went on to explain that he likes to bond with someone outside of his fame and fortune.

‘It’s one of the reasons, to be completely honest, that I never really date English girls. I love someone who doesn’t know what I do for a living. “I love someone who doesn’t care at all,” he said.

News of Roman and Carmen’s relationship comes just months after Roman opened up about his desire to have children of his own, confessing that he was “terrified not to have children.”

Gushing about his close relationship with his parents, he revealed that the example they set has made him want a family of his own.

In an interview with Heat magazine in July, Roman admitted he was also concerned about his own infertility and had a sperm check last year.

The star admitted to the publication: ‘I’m terrified I won’t have children. That’s my biggest thing. I even had a sperm check done when I was 30. I’m such a family-oriented person. ‘
