Nicola Peltz Beckham first started dating Brooklyn Beckham in late 2019, with the couple officially announcing their relationship on the ‘gram in early 2020.
In those first relationship snaps, Peltz, who just made her directorial debut with the upcoming drama Lola, was a vision of American style: casual T-shirts, hoodies and, thanks to her modeling work, the occasional statement red carpet dress.
However, as the 29-year-old has grown closer and closer to her husband’s family, her style has undergone something of a transformation – with her fashion designer mother-in-law seemingly influencing everything from her hair to her premiere clothes.
The sartorial stars haven’t always been on the same page as mother and daughter-in-law — remember that very awkward wedding dress conversation?
When Brooklyn and Nicola got married in 2022, the heiress — her mother and father, Nelson and Claudia Peltz, are reportedly worth a whopping $2.7 billion — wore a stunning couture Valentino gown.
Chanelling VB! Nicola Peltz Beckham wore a custom Victoria Beckham outfit to the premiere of her latest project, Lola, last week, featuring a white corset top and white low-rise trousers with Victoria’s signature flair
Victoria Beckham’s love of a white suit dates back to her Posh Spice days; and her daughter-in-law clearly took some style notes… wearing a VB corset and flared trousers to last week’s Lola premiere
The classic white suit, here double-breasted, has been a favorite throughout the designer’s career
But it wasn’t to be. Before the wedding, it was widely expected that the bride-to-be would glide down the aisle in a dress made by her soon-to-be mother-in-law, Mrs. VB.
The dress didn’t materialize, however, as the pop star turned designer was apparently too busy to put together a wedding gown.
Two years later, however, the couple seems to be getting along like a house on fire.
At the star-studded Lola premiere in Los Angeles last weekend, the family members posed in a stylish embrace for the waiting paparazzi, with Nicola wearing an outfit by, you guessed it, Victoria Beckham.
Nicola was also joined on her big night by Brooklyn and good friend Selena Gomez.
On Instagram, Victoria posted that she ‘couldn’t be prouder’ – and referenced the fact that Nicola was head to toe in ‘custom #VictoriaBeckham’.
The close relationship between the pair is clearly behind us and is increasingly reflected in Nicola’s current wardrobe.
The actress, model and director has adopted some of Victoria’s signature looks in recent years, including adopting a more monochrome wardrobe, wearing sporty leather and wearing her hair a deep, glossy shade of auburn. It’s all very Victoria Beckham.

Do brunettes have more fun? Both Nicola and Victoria have experimented with blonde hair… but are currently firmly brunette
Homage to a statement from the 90s? David and Victoria Beckham famously wore the matching leather to the Versace party in 1999, and almost a quarter century later their daughter-in-law offered up her version
The former pop star has always loved a baseball cap – often with the Yankees logo – paired with a casual black vest and lycra
If the cap fits; Nicola’s casual attire also references Victoria’s signature cap and vest look
The fashion powerhouse shared Vanity fair last week that her ’90s looks were now catching the attention of her Gen-Z kids and their partners, with Nicole seemingly a particular fan.
She said: ‘It’s funny because the ’90s have made such a comeback fashion-wise, the kids are asking for some of our pieces from back then.
‘A few years ago we sold a lot of our wardrobes for charity, but the children can’t believe what we sold!’
Last week, Nicola shared ‘after-party’ photos showing her in a sleek leather jacket and sunglasses – perhaps an homage to David and Victoria’s famous biker jacket look at the Versace party in 1999.
Victoria has a penchant for a bit of pink – including a dress in her latest collection. And Nicola has also worn the cowl on occasion (pictured at a Wendy’s celebration of the Strawberry Frosty)
When she’s not wearing a sharp suit, Victoria’s casual clothes often remain block colors, with simple accessories like baseball caps.
The mother of four has often been seen over the decades wearing a Yankees cap, often replete with lycra, and a simple black vest.
Sure enough, Nicole is also a fan of the cardigan and cap look, and recently shared a photo on her Insta of herself wearing just that while holding the family’s adorable white chihuahua.
When it comes to colour, Nicola, like Victoria, has become increasingly averse to everyday looks and sticks to reliable neutrals.
However, the red carpet and big photo shoots occasionally call for a bold pop of color, and Victoria has light pink shades in her collection this season, including a Cami floor length dress in pink.
What’s clear is that both women are now on the same page when it comes to fashion, which is likely the secret to their increasingly cordial relationship.
