Chelsea’s American owners have spent £600 million on new players in the past two transfer windows, but have not prioritized a new deal for Mount.

Indeed, with the prospect of losing Mount for nothing next year, Chelsea are likely to be threatening to sell the player this summer rather than risk him leaving on a free transfer.
