Fox Sports analyst Chris Broussard made a slur against developmentally disabled people on Tuesday when discussing James Harden’s trade to the Clippers.
Harden was awarded the franchise by the Sixers in the early hours of Tuesday morning and will work with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Russell Westbrook in LA.
And while discussing what role he would play on his new team, Broussard said something he would soon apologize for.
“Do you think he thinks he’s going to play like he did in Houston? ‘ Broussard asked ‘First Things First’ colleague Nick Wright.
“I think he’s not going to be able to play the way he wants to, and he’s going to grumble and it’s not going to work out well,” Wright replied.

Broussard then said, “Nick, has the man been reprimanded?”
The 55-year-old quickly amended his language to “developmentally disabled” before apologizing for his comment.
“I apologize for using that word,” he said. “I have a cousin…he died a few months ago, a month or two ago, he was developmentally disabled. So I didn’t mean to use that word.’
The comment left host Kevin Wildes with a bewildered look on his face as he dramatically raised his eyebrow.

As reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Harden was traded to the Clippers in exchange for multiple draft picks (including two first-rounders) and veteran role players such as Marcus Morris, Nic Batum and Robert Covington, as well as 22-year-old spark plug, Kenyon Martin Jr.
Meanwhile, in addition to Harden, the Clippers will also add veteran forwards PJ Tucker and Filip Petrusev.
Harden, who sought a trade to the Clippers this offseason, has yet to play this season.
He originally hoped to sign a long-term deal with Philadelphia after the 2022-23 season, but that offer never materialized.
The 34-year-old former MVP then opted out of the final year of his contract in June, but did so under the belief he would be traded by Sixers president Daryl Morey, according to reports.
That didn’t happen, leading Harden to call Morey a “liar” this summer and ultimately get his move.
