Is it normal to pee in the shower? Heated debate erupts over ‘feral’ bathroom act ‘most people’ do

A huge debate has sparked after a woman reacted with 'disgust' when she discovered her male friend peeing in the shower.

The man thought that '99 percent' of people did the same and many quickly agreed with him.

Others, however, found the custom 'gross' and 'savage'.

'Is it common to urinate while showering?' one man asked in a post on Reddit, which attracted hundreds of responses.

'As a man, I told a friend that I peed in the shower because I thought this was normal. She reacted with disgust and said she has never done that before,” he said.

He thought the behavior was normal and that most people do it, but the friend thought he was talking “crazy.”

Both men and women confessed to regularly peeing in the shower, with many claiming it saves water.

'As a woman, I pee in the shower. It saves water compared to rinsing,” said one user.

“It's also rare that you have to pee standing up,” one woman replied.

'Yes, even a woman, if I have to pee while I'm in the shower, I'm going to pee in the shower, I don't want to come out completely soaked to pee. It's not like you're just peeing in the shower when the shower is off, the water rinses out both you and yourself,” a third agreed.

“I pee in the shower, my husband pees in the shower, I think most people pee in the shower,” said a fourth.

'If you don't, you should give it a try, it saves water compared to flushing a toilet and doesn't require you to get out of the hot shower. Not to mention showering and washing myself feels cleaner, I find toilet paper quite dirty.'

“They're all pipes; it's all connected,” one person commented.

But not everyone was on board with shower noise, with one woman saying it made her feel 'uncomfortable'.

“I've thought about it before, but it doesn't feel right,” she said.

'It took me forever to find someone I agreed with. The only thing I can think of is puddles steaming up in the shower. Gross,” a second agreed.

'I really don't understand. Why wouldn't you go to the toilet earlier?' one user asked.

“I'm shocked that it's considered normal by so many people, I had no idea,” one person added.

'Awful. “I didn't even think about it: the shower is for showering,” exclaimed another.
