Is Gucci Mane’s 1017 record label CURSED? Social media fans sent into frenzy after death of Atlanta rapper Enchanting – the seventh artist signed with him to suffer a tragic fate

Some people on the Internet are convinced Gucci Mane’s record label 1017 is cursed after news broke that an Atlanta rapper died – the seventh artist signed to him to suffer tragedy.

It was revealed that a young musician known as Enchanting had died on Tuesday after an overdose reportedly left her on life support.

The 26-year-old star, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, was signed to Gucci’s label – and it turns out she’s not the only member of 1017 to suffer a harrowing fate.

In fact, countless people who were part of the record company have died or gone to jail over the years, leaving many social media users convinced that the label was “cursed.”

In December 2022, rapper Big Scarr tragically died at the age of 22 from an accidental prescription drug overdose.

A month later, Hotboy Wes was arrested on numerous charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and child endangerment.

He was ultimately sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty.

Rapper Pooh Shiesty has also built up a criminal record since signing with 1017 Records.

He was arrested in June 2020 for armed robbery, aggravated assault, battery and criminal theft, and then, in June 2021, he was taken into custody again in connection with a shooting at a Miami strip club.

He pleaded guilty to a gun conspiracy and was sentenced to five years behind bars in April 2022.

Foogiano, who spent three years in prison on burglary and theft charges before joining 1017, was arrested by a convicted felon for possession of a firearm in December 2020 and received a five-year prison sentence.

Amid the news of Enchanting’s death, X, formerly Twitter, was flooded with messages about 1017’s alleged “curse.”

“The curse of 1017 strikes again, SMH,” one person wrote. Another added: ‘The curse of 1017 is so real.’

“I’m convinced it’s a curse to sign with 1017,” another user announced.

“1017 must be cursed but God bless them,” read a fourth tweet. A fifth said: ‘Don’t sign with 1017. There may be a curse on Gucci [it].’

And when Gucci, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, shared a tribute to Enchanting on Instagram, his post was flooded with comments about it.

“So sad to have to say RIP to such an amazing young lady, a true star. We all miss you ‘Chant,’ he wrote.

“It’s your fault,” one replied, while another said, “Another sacrifice.”

The comments became so intense that his wife, Keyshia Ka’oir, had to step in and defend him.

She wrote in her own comment: ‘Leave my husband alone. He draws these artists to help them and give them a better life.

‘I wish it wasn’t so. “Chant, we love you, little girl. [RIP].’

While some people are convinced that Gucci’s label is bewitched, others have been quick to dismiss the idea.

“There is no curse,” one person insisted. Another defended Gucci, writing: ‘How is it his fault she was addicted to? [drugs]?’

“He had nothing to do with her personal life y’all chill,” someone else said.

“He draws real street artists like him,” another user commented. ‘Can not [make] no one changes, they have to change their own ways.”

“Y’all blaming 1017 but not what’s happening in people’s lives,” read another comment. “Gucci has nothing to do with what happened or what is going on.”

Rapper Yung Mal, who was previously signed to the record label, addressed rumors of a 1017 curse during an interview this week.

“He’s just signing some real gangsters,” he said. ‘It probably would have happened the same way [even if they weren’t signed to 1017] we simply wouldn’t have known them. Think about it this way.”
