Cody Simpson Hints At His Return To Music Career After Trading Pop Songs To Become A Professional Swimmer
Cody Simpson teased some new music after performing a new tune on guitar that he composed.
The singer-turned-champion swimmer, 26, sat down and plucked and strummed to his 4.8 million followers in a video shared to Instagram on Saturday.
He captioned the clip ‘Salt’ and wowed his fans using harmonics, time signature chords and riffs, all while sliding up and down the fingerboard of his acoustic guitar.

‘I could listen all day,’ commented one fan.
‘You should make it into a song!’ another pleaded, while another follower said they were listening to the video ‘on repeat’.
‘I love this. Please turn it into a song,” wrote another.
It comes after Cody admitted that he still has trauma from the years he lived in America trying to make it as a musician.

The Commonwealth Games athlete revealed in an emotional Instagram post this week that he struggled to deal with ‘horrible’ and ‘greedy’ people in his industry.
These negative experiences ended up taking their toll on the aspiring Olympian, who has since returned home to Australia full-time..
While Cody acknowledged the friendships he made in the United States, he also felt that he was manipulated by powerful people in music.
‘[They] they drowned me and suffocated me emotionally and financially and they still wish to drag me further down instead of putting their energies into their own lives,’ he said.

Cody felt that the only place to heal was his home country of Australia.
“Life is long, and I know that I can come out stronger, wiser and more confident in myself,” he added.
During his years in the United States, the Gold Coast native was romantically linked to Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Miley Cyrus.
Cody, who has his sights set on the 2024 Paris Olympics, felt the only place to heal was his home country of Australia.
But these days he couldn’t be happier among the ‘salt of the earth’ Queenslanders as he pursues his childhood dream of being a champion swimmer.
“I had a more distant relationship with my country for a few years there, but now I feel closer and more connected than ever before,” he said.
The musician trains hard nine times a week for a maximum of two hours a day to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Outside of the pool, he’s working on his strength with 90-minute weight-lifting sessions three times a week.
