Irish Grinstead, lead singer of the popular ’90s R&B group 702, has died at the age of 43.
Her sister and fellow 702 group member LeMisha Grinstead shared the sad news with fans via an Instagram post on Saturday.
‘It is with great sadness that I have to let you know that my beautiful sister and friend passed away this evening. She has been through a long struggle and is finally at peace,” she wrote under a photo of the singer.
‘That girl was as bright as the stars! She was not only beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside. Sharing the stage with her was a joy I will cherish for the rest of my life!’
“We, the family, ask for prayers and respect for our privacy as we mourn an extraordinary loss for our family. Always sweet, Misha.’
