Irish firefighter charged with raping Boston girl after St Patrick’s Day parade appears in court after ‘trying to flee following arrest’
- Irish firefighter Terrence Crosbie appeared in court in Boston on Tuesday after being accused of rape last month
- The married father arrived in handcuffs over his suspected case, just a month after he tried to flee the country
The Irish national who is a member of the Dublin Fire Brigade appeared in court on Tuesday for a probable cause hearing, a month after he was accused of raping a woman at a Boston hotel over St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
Terrence Crosbie, 37, was charged with rape in March after a 28-year-old woman told police she had been sexually assaulted at the historic Omni Parker House hotel.
On Tuesday morning, Crosbie arrived in the Boston Municipal courtroom wearing a navy blue T-shirt over a white long-sleeved shirt, dark pants and handcuffs. He also had a stony-faced expression.
The married father attempted to flee the country on March 16 after being interviewed by authorities about his alleged crime.

The Boston tourist was arrested last month after a 28-year-old woman said she woke up to see him sexually assaulting her after she had consensual sex with his boyfriend in a hotel room
Court documents show the alleged victim met Crosbie’s friend at The Black Rose bar and returned to the hotel, where Crosbie and the friend shared a room.
The woman and the boyfriend then had consensual sex in the room.
Surveillance video shows Crosbie returning to the hotel about two hours later, at which point the woman says she woke up to the horror of having been sexually assaulted by Crosbie.
She said she told him to stop and he replied, “This man is sleeping.” I know you want this.”
Authorities learned that Crosbie had traveled from Dublin to Boston with several other members of the Dublin Fire Brigade for the typically riotous weekend.
After being questioned by police on March 16, he immediately tried to leave the country. He booked an evening flight for the evening of the interview, several days before his scheduled departure date.
Crosbie actually boarded a flight that was scheduled to depart even earlier than the flight he had panic-booked, but members of the Massachusetts State Police stopped the plane on the tarmac and arrested Crosbie.

The alleged victim told police she was sexually assaulted by a member of the Dublin Fire Department at the Omni Parker House
On Tuesday morning, Crosbie arrived in the Boston Municipal courtroom wearing a navy blue T-shirt over a white long-sleeved shirt, dark pants and handcuffs.
At the time, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden said the department was grateful for the victim’s “willingness to come forward” and “deserved tremendous credit for doing so in this case.”
“I am grateful for the alertness of the police when they became aware that Mr. Crosbie was attempting to leave the country before he could be held accountable for his actions,” he added.
Authorities ordered Crosbie held on $100,000 bail and his passport surrendered. He was further ordered not to leave the state of Massachusetts.
When the Chief Fire Officer of Dublin Fire Brigade was informed of his employee’s alleged sub-legal activities abroad, he immediately placed Crosbie on leave.

In a series of social media posts unearthed after his arrest, Crosbie was found to have a dirty streak when speaking openly about sex.
On October 10, 2021, the firefighter posted an X-rated post for his wife’s birthday.
“Happy birthday honey…I’ll tear your cervix later,” he wrote above a photo of the couple.
In a 2017 post, he wrote about his desire to see a football match in Amsterdam, before offering his thoughts on a completely different facet of the city.
‘Ajax away becomes a descent [sic] trip. Six foot tall blondes and Europe’s most unreported rape capital are definitely worth a trip, even if it’s Vigo versus Lyon,” he wrote.
