Ireland defeated the West Indies by nine wickets on Friday to firmly secure their place in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup.

The West Indies won the toss and chose to bat first, with Brandon King hitting an unbeaten 62 from 48 balls to take them to 146-5.

Ireland, however, capped the runs with 15 balls left thanks to a half-century of Paul Stirling to dump the two-time winners from the competition.
