Ireland Baldwin says pregnancy is ‘difficult’ as she talks about the challenges

Ireland Baldwin announced she was expecting her first child earlier this month with boyfriend RAC.

Alec Baldwin’s daughter, who is expecting a girl, shared a note on Wednesday talking about the challenges of pregnancy.

The 27-year-old star wrote: “Pregnancy is hard. It takes a lot from you. I wasn’t ready for that. I have always wanted a baby with the right person.

Ireland prefaced her thoughts with a vulnerability trigger warning before opening up about her struggles during her first pregnancy.

She added that she found “a lot of solace in the unknown corners of social media” and hopes her post will help someone feel less alone if they feel the same way as she does.

Ireland noted that she has read similar notes about it and about how “difficult this journey can be,” which helped her “a lot.”

‘Pregnancy is hard. It takes a lot from you. I wasn’t ready for that. I have always wanted a baby with the right person. I grew up with a very jaded perception of what love was really like and always wanted to have a child of my own with someone who would treat us well and love us unconditionally,” she said.

The star continued, admitting that “relationships are hard. Breakups are very hard. lose a job Losing a loved one. To get sick. All of that is extremely difficult. But I underestimated how hard pregnancy would be on my mind and body. Being someone with extreme health anxiety on a daily basis, pregnancy has sped things up,” she wrote.

Ireland explained that he has “struggled to adjust to these changes”, which include “body sensations”, “aches and pains” and “organs randomly going to shit”.

Adding: ‘I know everyone has a completely different experience and mine is easy compared to most, but f*ck it’s a struggle. It’s so hard to have so much pressure on yourself. Forget the physical aspect… I feel like my brain and my thoughts are at war every day. mind war.

Ireland listed all her thoughts and internal struggles: “Just wait for the baby to come, you won’t be able to sleep at all.” Bitch, I don’t sleep now. SHUT. I’m tired. I am unmotivated. I feel like life happens and my career hasn’t even started. It’s hard to come here and watch mutuals dress up for events, have drinks, work the sets, go to school. It’s hard to feel alone.

Ireland thanked her boyfriend RAC for his support and love: ‘I have my boyfriend without him, I think I would have lost my mind. He is everything and more to me, but man, it’s hard to move to a place without family.

She ended her statement by writing that it is difficult because her divorced parents, Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, are not close to her.

Ireland has been living with her partner in Oregon, where they will be launching their own boutique in the near future.

Meanwhile, Kim lives in Los Angeles and Alec is raising seven young children with his wife Hilaria in New York City.

Ireland noted that “it’s even harder to watch some of your friends fade away or don’t know how to relate to you anymore.” Especially when for them you were nothing more than a drinking companion and a good time.

It’s hard to keep old people close when they’re so far away. It’s hard when your closest friends are having problems and you don’t know when it’s a good time to get emotionally involved with them. This shit is hard. When people expect you to be glowing and angelic and in a constant state of happiness…sometimes it’s unrealistic.’

He said he has morning sickness and reveals that he vomits six times a day.

Regardless, Ireland said she’s excited to “be his mum” and that her “career isn’t going anywhere and if it is, fuck it.”

She closed it by telling her followers that they are not alone.

Ireland announced the baby news on New Year’s Eve with a picture of her sonogram. RAC, born Andre Allen Anjos, and Ireland began dating last year.

Though she’s mostly stayed out of the limelight into her adulthood, Ireland can’t help but be the daughter of two of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Alec and Kim met on the set of the 1991 film The Marrying Man and later married in 1993.

But after nearly a decade, Kim would file for divorce. She started a bitter custody battle over her only daughter.

After years of accusations and more than $3 million in legal fees, the court finally decided to award them joint custody of Ireland.

The split was highly publicized and put Ireland, then six years old, in the spotlight.

Most infamously, in 2007 a profanity-filled voicemail was leaked that Alec left on Ireland’s cell phone.

In the audio, he called the young woman a “rude little piggy” and a “son of a bitch” for not answering his call.

Years later, Ireland appeared to defend his father when he explained that he simply “let his temper get the better of him” and insisted that Alec had worked to become a healthier version of himself.

‘My dad has moved on. He recognized that he needed to change, so he made changes,” he wrote in a 2013 post on his Tumblr account.

During a joint appearance with Ireland on Red Table Talk in early 2022, Kim spoke about the “heavy lifting, very loudly” and claimed that Alec was “not emotionally or mentally available” as a father.
