Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi is involved in helicopter ‘hard landing incident’

Rescuers in Iran try to reach a helicopter involved in ‘an incident’ while traveling with an entourage including President Ebrahim Raisi.

There was no immediate explanation of what happened to the helicopter, nor of who else besides the Muslim president was on board.

Raisi is said to have been traveling in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan.

State television described the area where the incident took place near Jolfa, a town on the border with the nation of Azerbaijan, some 600 kilometers northwest of the Iranian capital Tehran.
