The US has shot down an unmanned Iranian drone headed to Israel, two US officials claim.
Israel has put the occupied Golan Heights on high alert for drone attacks
The Israeli military has put the northern part of the occupied Golan Heights, as well as Nevatim, Dimona and Eilat, on alert for the possible impact of Iranian drone launches early on Sunday, instructing residents to stay close to bomb shelters.
The Golan was captured from Syria during the 1967 war. Nevatim is the location of an Israeli air base. Israel has a nuclear reactor on the outskirts of Dimona. Eilat is Israel’s southern Red Sea port, which has been repeatedly attacked by Yemen’s Houthis.
Iran warns US to ‘stay away’ from conflict with Israel
Iran’s mission to the United Nations has warned the United States to “stay away” from the conflict with Israel.

This comes after President Joe Biden warned Iran on Friday against attacking Israel, after saying such a scenario was imminent and pledging to stand with Israel against Iran.
EU chief condemns Iranian ‘unprecedented escalation’
The European Union’s foreign affairs chief, Josep Borrell, condemned the Iranian attacks on Israel on Saturday as an “unprecedented escalation.”
“The EU strongly condemns the unacceptable Iranian attack on Israel,” he wrote on platform X.
“This is an unprecedented escalation and a serious threat to regional security.”
Jordan denies that there is a state of emergency
A spokesman for Jordan’s government has denied that the kingdom has declared a state of emergency, saying media reports that it had done so were unfounded and “there was no cause for concern among citizens.”
Minister of Government Communications Muhannad Mubaideen told state news agency Petra that the government would take legal action against any media outlet spreading rumors or accusations that have not been verified.
Biden meets with national security advisers in the situation room
US President Joe Biden has started his situation room meeting with national security advisers following the Iranian attacks on Israel, Reuters reports.
Iran-backed Huthi rebels in Yemen launch drones at Israel in a coordinated attack
Yemen’s Huthi rebels launched multiple drones at Israel in coordination with Iran, security firm Ambrey said late on Saturday, adding that the projectiles were likely timed to reach Israel simultaneously.
‘Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVS) have reportedly been launched by the Huthis towards Israel. The UAVs were launched in cooperation with Iran,” the company said.
“Israeli ports are seen as potential targets,” it added, warning of “collateral damage” to shipping.
