Two teenagers left a four-year-old boy with “serious injuries” after allegedly colliding with him while riding an e-scooter.

The pair collided with the four-year-old child just after 6:30 p.m. on April 5.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said the pair were thrown off the e-scooter they were riding together when they hit the child.

The child suffered serious head injuries and was later taken to hospital.

Both teens allegedly fled to the lagoon and parking lot without helping the child.

Authorities are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, including those who helped the four-year-old, to come forward.

“Nearby businesses with CCTV or anyone else with information that could help investigators are urged to get in touch,” Queensland Police said in a statement released over the weekend.

“Anonymous reports can be made.”

One of the riders is said to be wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a fanny pack across his chest at the time of the incident.

According to police, the other was wearing a long dark-sleeved shirt with white stripes on the sleeves, gray shorts and a dark cap.

Both are described as being of fair complexion.
