Apple CEO Tim Cook tweets photo of Apple Park
We’re less than two hours away from the start of today’s event. CEO Tim Cook tweeted this photo from Apple Park in Cupertino.
X users speculate that the image was generated by AI, perhaps to demonstrate the capabilities of Apple Intelligence.
Apple Store site is OFF-ROAD for the event
Normally, Apple takes its online store offline before a launch event so the company can prepare pages for its new products.
That means you won’t be able to buy any Apple products until the event ends later today. But today probably isn’t the best day to buy a new iPhone or Apple device anyway.
If you wait until a few weeks after launch, you’ll have more time to decide whether the latest models are worth the price, or whether you’d rather buy a slightly older model that costs less.
Update on virtual or augmented reality devices?
There’s no indication that Apple will provide an update today on its Vision Pro, Apple Glasses, or other new virtual or augmented reality devices.
However, new information has been leaked about the Apple Glasses, which are expected to hit the market in 2027.
But we could have them, or a cheaper version of Vision Pro, as early as 2025.
These lightweight AR glasses will differ from the Vision Pro glasses, as they are designed for everyday use. They are considered a direct competitor to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, which were launched in 2021.
The Apple Glasses are expected to feature augmented reality and eye-scanning capabilities, but little else is known about the functionality and design of this future product.
Possible surprise product debuts, including the iPad mini 7
Apple could surprise us with some unexpected devices at the event, including the iPad mini 7.
The iPad mini 6 was released in 2021, so this tablet is due for an upgrade.
The new mini is rumored to feature support for the Apple Pencil Pro, increased storage and memory, and a variety of new colors.
Apple expected to unveil new Apple Watch and AirPods
In addition to the iPhone 16 series, new devices are also expected today, such as the Apple Watch X and the AirPods 4.
Other devices that could hit the market today include the Apple Watch Ultra 3, AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Max 2, but it’s less certain whether these will actually appear.
The two models in this new Apple Watch line are rumored to feature some exciting health tracking features. That includes an updated heart rate and ECG sensor, and an all-new sleep apnea detection feature.
The Apple Watch may also get a makeover. This new series is expected to have a larger but thinner screen.
The new AirPods are expected to offer better sound quality than the AirPods 3, which were released in 2021. The AirPods 4 are also the first non-pro models to feature active noise cancellation and come with a new case with a built-in speaker.
A Brief Guide to Apple Intelligence: Apple’s Own AI Platform
Apple is finally entering the AI race with the launch of Apple Intelligence, its own AI platform.
The company describes the new software as a “personal intelligence system that puts powerful generative models at the heart of your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.”
New features on the platform include generative writing and image creation tools, the ability to create custom emojis (or Genmoji), and major improvements to Siri.
Apple’s foray into AI began with the introduction of its digital assistant Siri in 2011. But since then, the company has lagged behind competitors like Amazon and Google.
However, with the launch of Apple Intelligence, the company aims to make its mark on the ‘conscious AI’ market.

Your phone will walk you through a short calibration process so it can recognize your eye movements. Then you can navigate your screen, open apps, and perform tasks within apps, all without ever touching your screen.
