iPhone 15 brings back a fan favorite COLOR, leaker claims – here are the colors we expect Apple to include

  • New iPhone 15 models may be available in green and deep crimson colors
  • The shade of green may resemble the mint color of iPhone 12s

Speculation surrounding the forthcoming iPhone 15 has been in full swing as we count down to Apple’s anticipated September event.

A groundbreaking titanium alloy frame, a first-ever solid state volume rocker and a USB-C charging port are some of the many features the flagship smartphone would have.

Now a new claim suggests the iPhone 15 will come in a range of vibrant colors, including some of the previous fan favorites.

A source on the Chinese site Weibo claims that Apple will make the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in a bright shade of green, according to 9T5Mac.

Though thought to be new, this color can still take fans on a trip down memory lane, with some similarities to the mint iPhone 11 and 12 not seen since.

Meanwhile, the same source claims that the iPhone 15 Pro could be made in an “exclusive” deep crimson hue.

This could be just a little lighter than the deep purple hue of the iPhone 14 Pro – another first this year.

According to the publication, pink and blue are among other colors that Apple is experimenting with.

Forms of pink have been seen many times before – with a rose gold hue kickstarted in 2015 with the iPhone 6S and the best-selling iPhone XR in 2015.

Rumors have been circulating for years that a bright pink iPhone is on the horizon, but it has yet to come true.

Blue has also been seen in numerous shades, including navy blue with the iPhone 12 and a more muted pastel shade with the iPhone 14.

9to5Mac predicts that the upcoming iPhone 15 could come in a bright baby blue hue, similar to the older XR model.

The new leak comes amid a wave of speculation surrounding the iPhone 15 and the future of other Apple products.

Numerous rumors point to the idea that the iPhone 15 Pro will be made from a titanium alloy that is 45 percent lighter than the previous stainless steel frame.

Images of a ‘dummy’ of the iPhone 15 Pro were also leaked in April, suggesting that the iPhone’s mute switch would be disabled with an elongated mute button.

Pink and blue are among other colors being experimented with for the iPhone 15 models, the leak suggests. Forms of pink have been seen on numerous previous occasions, including the best-selling iPhone XR in coral red in 2015 (pictured left). Blue has also been seen in numerous shades, including the baby blue iPhone XR (right) and a more muted pastel shade with the iPhone 14

  4. Blue

If true, this would be Apple’s first time changing the button since the iPhone launched in 2007, likely allowing users to switch with its sensitivity.

The dummy also included a USB-C charging port instead of the usual Lightning port.

This change follows earlier talks from Apple’s chief executive Greg Joswiak, who said the tech giant “had to comply” with new USB laws passed by the EU.

With that in mind, it’s already common knowledge that the company is replacing its proprietary Lightning charging technology – identified by the eight pins – with USB-C in EU countries.

Rather, he said, “Obviously we have to stick to it; we have no choice, just as we do around the world to comply with local laws.

“But we think the approach would have been better for the environment and better for our customers if a government hadn’t been so prescriptive.”

Rumors have been swirling for years that a bright pink iPhone is on the horizon, but only time will tell if that’s actually the case

WHY APPLE USB-C HAS RESISTANCE

Apple has long been a thorn in the side of the EU’s plans to enforce a unified standard for charging cables.

Apple claims that changing iPhone charging ports to USB-C would “stifle innovation.”

Last year, an Apple spokesperson said, “We believe regulations imposing harmonization of smartphone chargers would stifle rather than encourage innovation.

“It will harm consumers in Europe and the economy as a whole.”

The company is also believed to prefer its own cable due to its higher waterproof rating than USB-C.

In addition, Apple can control the quality of lightning cables and accessories through the “Made for ‌iPhone‌” program.

This is also a source of profit that the company is unlikely to want to part with.

However, Apple switched its iPad tablets to USB-C in 2018.
