iPhone 15 pro max costs $3,195 in Australia – more expensive than a MacBook

Apple’s new iPhone 15 models are expected to be the tech giant’s most expensive to date and have set Australians back at least $3,000 for the flagship version of the smartphone, which will be the first ever to feature two terabytes of storage.

Industry insiders are reporting that the highly anticipated iPhone 15 Max 2TB could be available starting at A$3,195.

That’s more than 33 percent above the $1,999 entry point for a 13-inch MacBook Pro laptop.

The iPhone 15 1TB model could cost as much as $2,969, while a base 128GB version of the latest model will cost tech enthusiasts $2,099.

In comparison, the latest models currently available in Australia, iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max 1TB, start from A$1,749 and $1,899 respectively.

The base iPhone 14 starts from According to Apple’s website, the iPhone 14 Plus costs $1,399, while the iPhone 14 Plus costs $1,579.

Apple has been tight-lipped about the iPhone 15 models due to be unveiled in the US on September 12, but has hailed the latest versions as “the best iPhone ever.”

The Australian release date for iPhone15 models is expected on or after September 22, a men’s lifestyle publication Boss hunt recently reported.

An Apple Australia spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia that the company had no new details to share as no announcements have been made yet.

The rumored versions will be the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The top-of-the-range iPhone 15 Max 2TB will be the first ever phone with two terabytes of storage space.

One terabyte equals 1,024 gigabytes, which can store 555,555 JPEG images.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max will likely also be available in standard 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB versions, but is unlikely to ship before October due to supply chain concerns.

The top-tier iPhone models are also rumored to have a titanium finish, an improved camera, and a powerful new chip.

Titanium can withstand higher temperatures better than steel and offers comparable protection against water damage.

It is rumored that the iPhone 15 Pro models will also feature USB-C instead of lightning, new periscope camera technology with improved zoom quality, USB-C port and an A17 chip.

Whichever iPhone 15 model you choose, everyone will see improved battery capacity.

The standard iPhone 15 is said to have a 3,877 mAh battery, the iPhone 15 Plus has 4,912 mAh, the iPhone 15 Pro has 3,650 mAh and iPhone 15 Pro Max has 4,852 mAh.

The current iPhone 14 Pro Max version has a capacity of 4,323 mAh.

As various color rumors have been circulating, the latest Pro models will be available in a unique dark blue color with a gray tint, according to well-known tech leaker Unknownz21.

It comes after Unknownz21 took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday to reveal the updated version of the imagery used for the iPhone 15 Pro’s blue color, in collaboration with Mac Rumors.
