An Iowa woman has had both her legs and parts of her hands amputated and will need facial reconstruction surgery after a poaching dog attack last week.
Brittany Skoland, of Fort Dodge, was attacked by three pit bulls last Friday, leaving her in critical condition.
Police were called to the 800 block of South 16th Street in Fort Dodge around 11:25 a.m. by a neighbor who reported they could hear someone screaming for help.
When officers arrived, they found a woman mauled by three dogs.
After attempting to chase the dogs away, the officer was forced to shoot each dog multiple times, killing all three.

Police were called to the 800 block of South 16th Street in Fort Dodge around 11:25 a.m.
Critically injured, Skoland was taken from the scene by ambulance to Unity Point Trinity Medical Center in Fort Dodge and then by helicopter to Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
The mother suffered severe head trauma and had to undergo several surgeries after being admitted to hospital.
Skoland's aunt Teresa Hanus, also of Fort Dodge, set up a fundraising campaign who had raised more than $8,000 as of Friday afternoon to support the housing her niece will need after the brutal attack.
Hanus revealed that her niece “lost a lot more than we initially thought.”
'She has had both legs amputated down to her knees and parts of her hands. She needs facial reconstruction surgery, she also has severe head trauma and much more,” Hanus explained.
“Those who know Brittany know that she enjoys being outdoors, doing yard work and helping her mother decorate for the holidays. She also enjoys playing outside with her younger children.” Hanus added.

Hanus explained how the money raised will be used: 'The doors will be widened to accommodate a wheelchair and a ramp so she can get in and out of the house.
“The house will also need modifications to meet her needs inside.”
Neighbor Kerri Johnson told KCCI about the gruesome scene.
“I heard the gunshots. I originally came outside and saw the police with their guns drawn. He told me to go inside and I did. I also went inside, but after a few moments my curiosity was aroused,” he recalls.
“I stepped into the driveway to take a look, I saw a black dog lying on the ground, deceased, which is super sad,” he said.
He added: 'I don't know what happened to the lady, but I know someone was pulled away in a stretcher.'
